We took a look into plaques for persister cells and found them (along with 'resistors') for E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and K. pneumoniae. Congratulations/thanks to @LauraFerGarBact, @JoyMwende77, @d_huelgas, @MariadelMarTom, and @Larvberg.

Single-cell transcriptomics applied to toxin/antitoxin systems for the first time reveal how the host responds to oxidative stress: by using tools from its former foe (cryptic prophage).
So thrilled to announce the publication of our last article reporting an innovative carbapenemase diagnostic method based on CRISPR-Cas13 system! Thanks to this amazing team @DanielPabloM @OPacios@InesBleriot@LauraFerGarBact#Lucía@MariadelMarTom https://t.co/WDbomH6FIj

Our take on the rush to claim 'cell suicide' for phage-defense systems with little evidence (similar to claims made for toxin/antitoxin systems). More likely these systems slow growth in an effort to thwart phage.

We searched all 4,287 E. coli proteins to identify GTPase RsgA that reduces ribosome activity as a phage defense to thwart T4 phage infection (there are few known direct ribosome diminution systems). Congratulations to @LauraFerGarBact and @MariadelMarTom!
On this episode of the Phage Files, we celebrate the International Women's History Month. We talk about the role women played in the early days of phage research. We then feature an interview from Dr. Elizabeth Kutter and Prof. @MarthaClokie.

So excited about the fourth publication of my thesis on the proteomic study of the interaction between phages and the bacterial host K. Pneumoniae: https://t.co/5d24c5dH3T. Thanks to all the team @OPacios, @conchoc, #Luciablasco and especially to my director @MariadelMarTom 🤩🙌🏻
Very pleased to announce the publication of our work on the application of an RT-LAMP-CRISPR-Cas13a technology for detection of SARS-CoV2! So grateful to the amazing #MicroTM group @MariadelMarTom@OPacios@InesBleriot @madialeva_ @LauraFerGarBact#Lucía https://t.co/rTe0rVKczt
