who is allowed to protest in canada? while Black and Indigenous people are killed and attacked, white supremacists waving confederate flags get a free pass. just look at the convoy, @Joyhenderson78 writes #InTheirOwnVoices https://t.co/iEItd1oE1I
My partner and I were just discussing how a lot of Black people don't have the education around anti-Semitism to fully get why Nick Cannon's rant was messed up. So let me be your Black & Jewish educational fairy godmother
3/ Instead of “Hey @rcmpgrcpolice RCMP, does racism exist?”
Try: "Hey RCMP. Can you point to me when exactly in your history, you departed from your literal original purpose of terrorizing Black & Indigenous communities, and if you have not done this, can you justify why?"
“But what about rape and domestic violence, don’t we need cops for that?”
In my 5+ years as a domestic violence counselor, there was not one instance where I saw a victim of either sexual assault, rape, or domestic violence get the help they needed by the police.
One thing I’ve learned from writing this book is that people are uncomfortable with the notion that women & girls never have to take responsibility for men abusing, harassing, raping and killing them.
People like the ‘no victim blaming’ message until they realise what it means.
I’ve noticed that with every killing of an unarmed black person, there are white folks who decide that they want to “fight racism.”
I’m not here tryna kill your vibe, I’m happy you’re here, but it’s also time for some honesty. So let’s sit down and have a chat.

When you expect your Head of Diversity to champion/market your company as the best place to work for underrepresented people without real change, know that that burden can feel oppressive.
Work to close the cognitive dissonance first, then authentic advocacy will follow.
