It's harrowing that so many babies are affected by domestic abuse.

We must remember they are victims too and need tailored support.

That’s why all child safeguarding professionals must fully understand domestic abuse so they can provide the right help every single time.

JUST RELEASED: New findings have revealed the alarming number of babies referred to children’s social care in England with domestic abuse as a factor; nearly 50,000 each year, based on a 3-year average.

Freedom of Information (FOI) requests indicated that almost 2,000 babies (aged 0 – 2) have entered care in England every year, for the past three years, with domestic abuse as a significant factor.

Our ground-breaking research highlights the urgent need for targeted interventions to break cycles of domestic abuse, to protect babies from harm and and reduce the financial burden on public services.

In light of this data, we’re calling for urgent reforms to protect babies and children from harm.
