UC Berkeley College of Engineering, class of 2022. Same classrooms.
Foreign grads: 80% working.
Americans: 55%.
About 147 American engineers still looking. 119 of 149 foreign classmates already placed through OPT.
A talent shortage does not hire like that.
A couple hundred dollars a month would have made a huge difference to our family budget back when I was a stay at home mom.
But I fear this would only open the door wide open to more fraudsters.
America's fertility problem is almost entirely an abortion problem
It is not that American women are not having children
It is that they are killing those children instead of letting them live
Turning St Paul’s into a nightclub is an affront to Christians, an insult to Londoners whose diocesan Cathedral it is, and grossly disrespectful not only of worshipers but also of “The Immortal Memory of Lord Nelson and Those Who Fell With Him”, and to the Iron Duke. It is offensive.
@StPaulsLondon
This also is deeply misleading imo -
The President’s Executive Order does not give ranchers a new right to process and sell their own meat across state lines. It also does not legalize interstate sales of custom-exempt meat. It actually does not repeal a single identified regulation.
Instead, it directs the USDA to promote its own existing programs, create a website, and report back in 60 days. So basically, we may get a website out of the deal.
And notice this wording: ranchers “should be able” to sell across state lines. Yes they should — but just saying that does nothing to affirmatively make it happens.
Farmers could already process animals for personal use; federally inspected meat could already cross state lines; and qualified state-inspected processors could already participate in the CISP program.
Presenting an Executive Order to study and promote existing programs as though the President just opened interstate markets is nothing more than political marketing.
Our government floods this country with billions of pounds of foreign beef—animals killed and boxed overseas—while an American rancher who raises two cattle identically is allowed to sell only the one that goes through a USDA plant. The other, slaughtered on his own land, is illegal to sell. Same grass. Same animal. Same ranch. Different permission slip. Does anyone honestly believe every imported pound was inspected the way that one cow had to be inspected? Four companies now control about 85 percent of American beef processing. Two of them are foreign-owned. A system built to keep food safe has become a gate that keeps small ranchers out. Unless you scale up to feedlot size and feed the Big Four, you don’t get to sell the meat you raised. That isn’t safety. That’s capture. And it is killing American ranching.
The actual order
“The Order directs the Secretary of Agriculture to review country-of-origin labeling for beef products. Based on this review, the Secretary of Agriculture may propose new regulations and legislative recommendations regarding such labeling. “

Bringing back Country of Origin labeling for beef is a long overdue move. Our markets have been flooded with foreign beef ever since Congress repealed it in 2015. America's ranching families work hard and deserve a government that does everything they can to ensure they aren't being undercut with cheap, lower-quality foreign imports.
2/ Berkeley’s overall data show that 58.2% of engineering graduates with reported outcomes were employed, 14.4% were still looking for work, and 26.5% were continuing or seeking further education. Berkeley had outcome information for 64.8% of graduates, so the classwide figures are estimates.
