Walnut Creek residents don't want to wait until 2030 for relief from noise- and air-polluting leaf blowers. Communities deserve clean air and birdsong. Landscape workers deserve healthy lungs and good hearing. End the stink. End the noise.

🧵PWU found out this week that layoff notices were sent to a major part of @SierraClub's Human Resources Investigations Team and the entire Equity Department. These teams were undergoing review of many internal investigations of toxic behavior. 1/
@derivativeburke I would love that! The only folks I know who use this road are the ones trying to avoid traffic on 680. How about we have better buses or BART from between Walnut Creek and Danville/Dublin?
It’s the most predictable thing in urban land use but electric car advocacy is very rapidly going to become a powerful opponent of infill housing and safe streets because they need a shit-ton of parking spots with vehicle chargers to achieve their dream of electric sprawl.
To the other candidates, Matt, Cindy, and Brian - thank you for running and keeping this campaign season positive, even when we disagreed. I look forward to working with all of you to build the Walnut Creek we need for the future.
Well, the results are not what we hoped for. But I'm extremely proud of all that we accomplished. Friends, family, and volunteers, we gave it our all. I woke up yesterday morning 100% sure that we couldn't have done anymore, especially as I was a first-time candidate.
Thank you to everyone who offered support, kind words, time, money, and your belief in me and this campaign. Please take the rest of this week to rest and recover because we still have work to do.
This is my promise that this is just the beginning.
“In Finland, the # of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” https://t.co/EH3reri9lz
On Election Day eve, Twitter has suspended
@sdoute , the executive director of the League of Women Voters of California
@LWVC on the eve of midterm elections . No warning. No explanation. No way to appeal. What is next?
@AmazingMoosh I do think because of their inconsistency and impact on birds, the energy sector really steered away from wind for homes, which limits our options. But how cool would a wind tree outside a condo complex be?
I'd love to hear from you - what one less talked about climate initiative you'd like to see implemented?
Mine is encouraging or requiring new MFH construction to have clean energy generating installations like solar or wind turbines (these can be beautiful art pieces).
This is land on a single family home lot. The house is another ~300 ft further back to the right. Explain to me why this lot can't be split to support more housing. I don't understand the fears folks have that it would "ruin" their neighborhood.
