Last week, we collaborated with the Committee on Status of Women in Medicine (SWIM) at @YaleMed to host a dinner supporting the incredible women in Hematology/Oncology at @YaleCancer. We feel so lucky to be inspired and empowered by this amazing group every single day!
Had so much fun presenting our @YaleCOPPER poster at ASCO @HenryParkMD@cpgYALE@MayoClinic
Thanks to Yale, Mayo, and FDA colleagues
Lots of excitement and interest in our findings!
.@LauraVanBaum reveals a modest decline in #opioid prescriptions for patients with #cancer following surgery & a steep decline in opioid prescribing for pts with metastatic cancer w/o documented pain in review of pts at one healthcare system #ASCO24@YaleCOPPER@YaleMed@YNHH
I encourage everyone to watch this entire @jaketapper segment which lays bare how deeply evil and cynical Hamas and its top funder the Islamic Republic are.
This does not mean governments are off the hook, but Hamas and the Islamic Republic do not wish for freedom... all they want is death, destruction, and subjugation.
Useful and practical! Find our consensus guidelines for the treatment of VHL published here. I was lucky to be involved in this large group effort! https://t.co/cUynsmkGat @YaleCancer @VUMCHemOnc
Agree! Immediately practice changing! Low risk, low cost, high benefit. Sadly not surprising that something with so little financial incentive was not done in the USโฆ
This might be most practice changing study I heard at #ASCO23#survonc
Widely available, affordable, addresses major QoL and dose delivery issue ๐๐ผ
Yes! This is the elephant in the room - lots of good interventions and ideas but need to be willing to pay for them. Great session today for supportive oncology! and shoutout to moderator @SESchellhorn
Not a doctor tweet but one as a concerned patient. I went to New Haven Dental Group. Despite having been seen in Nashville 6mos prior, they said I needed 3 fillings (which I had done)... I came back 6mos later for cleaning. No X-rays. The dentist said: 6 more fillings... (1/n)
My husband said I should report it. Not sure how so sharing here. Many people told me, "this is so common." Only go to dentist "with a good referral." Always get 2nd opinion if fishy. Finally a shout out to excellent Yale health insurance for covering the transfer to new doc. fin
I saw the new dentist yesterday. Cleaning and exam. She said there are "no concerns." She reviewed X-rays from Nashville (NHDG had not sent theirs). She said likely didn't need any of the fillings. Once a drill enters a tooth though... Anyway, I found it very disturbing (3/n)
