Which kind of people pleaser are you:

The "I'm highly anxious and spin out the moment I realize I don't want to do the thing" kind?

or

The "I can't say no without going into a doubt spiral about whether I'm a good person if I don't say yes" kind?

Hear me out, near sighted Southern Californians: May Gray? June Gloom?

That's when we save biiiig money by wearing our glasses instead of contacts.

I'm in between therapists, so I'm showing up somewhere else to listen to people talk about their perspectives on life.

Not just churches. I'll be visiting synagogues, temples, mosques- anywhere people gather to ask big questions.

It's not about converting. It's about listening.

Neurodivergent *or* neurotypical, self care is about meeting your real needs and not chasing someone else’s ideal.

[Laura Vidal Leib @LauraVidalLeib]

Self care isn’t ‘one size fits all’.

So turn off the big light and talk with me about self care for ideas for neurodivergent minds.

A less overwhelmed nervous system means more capacity for the things and people you care most about.

Lie on the floor with your feet above your heart, and give your nervous system the opportunity to settle.

Make themed playlists to calm or energize.

[Laura Vidal Leib @LauraVidalLeib]

Move. Bounce. Rock. Fidget. Lift heavy things. Run. Dance. PLAY. Your body knows what it needs.

Masking recovery looks like:

Hanging out with friends and family who get it.

You deserve to just be you.

Wearing what you like instead of what’s ‘acceptable’.

Recharge time after socializing. Because sometimes self care looks like an open calendar.

[Laura Vidal Leib @LauraVidalLeib]

Sensory self care is:

Comfy clothes

Dim or natural lighting

Noise-canceling headphones

Listening to a playlist you love on repeat

Stimming without shame

Eating your favorite meal (again)

We're surrounded by so much natural beauty in this area, and an environmental tragedy too. #santamonica #lafires #malibu

I went to the beach for a walk today to remind myself that I live in a coastal city. The view? Great. The sound of the waves? Lovely! The glob of black tar stuck to my foot? Less good. #santamonica #lafires #malibu

Then there's the awareness that the water is full of toxic runoff from the January fires and has been home to a massive marine life die-off in the past month. #santamonica #lafires #malibu

Repeat after me: Trial and error *includes* ERROR for a damn reason. We learn by making mistakes.

[Laura Vidal Leib @LauraVidalLeib]

And why does that list always include things that get people thinking I'm a tradwife?

What handy Grandma tricks are we all using to save money while the US economy goes down the drain?

But I got to go to the gym though, so there's that. Taking the win.

[Laura Vidal Leib @LauraVidalLeib]

It's been a "sports bra on inside out because I was going to shower right after the gym but life happened and now it's almost 8 o'clock and I'm just getting the water warmed up now" kinda day.

I am a hard no to trusting my brain after 8pm.
