Imagine being told you might lose a leg(s) by a doctor miming a chopping motion. That’s what happened to my Deaf dad—no BSL interpreter, no proper communication, no family informed. A shocking failure of basic patient care.

Seriously the lack of BSL awareness is frightening. Dad at Freeman hospital been in 3 weeks first time today an interpreter is available only because I escalated it. Truth is no one cares, because they’re not living in it!
