The claim that establishment is simply a service to everyone misses the point. Establishment isn’t about hospitality; it’s about constitutional privilege. It shapes who can hold office, whose voices are built into the state, and whose advice carries institutional weight.

In a religiously diverse Britain, equality before the state matters.
