Despite Russia’s threats, Estonian diplomats are not leaving Kyiv.

Threatening diplomats, foreigners, and civilians is unacceptable and a blatant violation of the UN Charter. Russia’s attempts at intimidation only expose its true face.

Estonia will not bow to threats. Our embassy remains open, our diplomats stay in Kyiv, and we continue to stand firmly with Ukraine.

We also conveyed this message yesterday to the representative of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn.

Estonia, together with 15 other countries of the Friends of Cohesion Group, agreed on a joint declaration on the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034 #MFF.

A stronger, safer and more competitive Europe needs financing that matches today’s geopolitical realities.

Russia is weakening, and Putin needs to buy time. That’s why Moscow wants Europe cast as a “neutral mediator,” which is impossible.

Europe supports Ukraine and its own security. The focus must stay on increasing pressure on Russia until it is serious about peace negotiations.
