BREAKING: Moments ago Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg has issued this statement in response to the GOP subpoenaing former Special Assistance to the DA, Mark Pomerantz. It reads:

"The House GOP continues to attempt to undermine an active investigation and ongoing New York criminal case with an unprecedented campaign of harassment and intimidation. Repeated efforts to weaken state and local law enforcement actions are an abuse of power and will not deter us from our duty to uphold the law. These elected officials would better serve their constituents and the country, and fulfill their oath of office, by doing their jobs in Congress and not intruding on the sovereignty of the state of New York by interfering in an ongoing criminal matter in state court."

POETIC JUSTICE!!! A Central Park Five member has taken out a full page ad on Trump 34 years after he called for them to be put to death!

Yusef Salaam, one of the exonerated teenagers, wrote that since Trump is “arrested and arraigned, here is my response:”

The ad goes:

“If the charges are proven and you are found guilty, I hope that you endure whatever penalties are imposed with the same strength and dignity that the Exonerated Five showed as we served our punishment for a crime we did not commit.”

In 1989, Trump famously took an ad to call for the punishment of five Black and Latino teenagers, who were wrongfully imprisoned for the rape of a white woman in New York’s Central Park that they did not commit.

Making physical threats against a DA and threatening violence against a judge
are both against the law. That's not free speech.

An ordinary American who did such things would be charged, and then held until trial. Those actions would also add to their sentence when convicted.

Trump’s under secret service protection. If he continues to stoke violence, the judge should order his detail to hand him over for arrest and stick him in a cell in New York until his trial, or at least, issue a gag order.

We need to start making our laws work in this country when it comes to the failed former President. He's had more free television time this past week than anyone in history, which is ridiculous.

Trump's language is one of the things that makes him so dangerous, and he essentially just called for a coup in the United States. In responding to a series of questions submitted by Tucker Carlson pertaining to Russia, Ukraine, and regime change abroad, Trump said:

The *literal* definition of regime change is "the replacement of one administration or government by another, especially by means of military force."
