Another reminder that we had a chance to get rid of Trump, but we can thank the GOP Congress for allowing him to remain in office!

Today Donald Trump and his lawyer will try to convince a NY probation officer not to recommend a jail sentence, but the need for a jail sentence here is overwhelming. Here are 5 reasons why Probation should reject Trump’s arguments and recommend jail for Trump:
1. Trump will cite his public service as POTUS as a mitigating factor, but the fact that he committed this crime while President - he signed fraudulent checks in the Oval Office - is an aggravating factor. His abuse of the American people’s trust by committing crimes while serving as President warrants jail.
2. Trump will argue that his status as the potential future POTUS demands leniency for the good of our country. Jail for Trump would be polarizing, but it would be far worse for this country for the American Presidency to be a get out of jail free card for a convicted felon who refuses to accept responsibility for his crimes.
3. Trump will argue that the charged crime is victimless and harmless. He is wrong. This case is about the subversion of democracy in 2016 that deprived us - the American voters - of accurate information about presidential candidate Trump that could have changed the outcome of the election. A jail sentence would signal accountability to Trump and his enablers as they set the stage for election interference in 2024.
4. Trump will argue that his lack of criminal history and contributions to NY as a successful business mogul support a sentence of probation. But you know who else was a first-time offender? Michael Cohen, who went to jail for the same conduct. The need to prevent an unfair disparity between their sentences justifies jail for Trump, who was more culpable than Cohen as the leader and beneficiary of the crime. And Trump can’t credibly point to a stellar business record and contributions to NY when he owes $464M in the NY civil fraud case (not to mention his numerous other civil lawsuit losses).
5. Trump will argue that he’s amenable to supervision given his USSS detail and media reporting his every move. But we all know Trump won’t follow Probation’s rules because he didn’t follow court orders. See Exhibit A: 10 gag order violations in this case. Exhibit B: new gag order violation when he disparaged the jury after his guilty verdict. Exhibit C: gag order violations targeting Judge Engoron’s law clerk in the NY civil fraud case.

BREAKING: Democratic star Congressman Jamie Raskin brings down the hammer and demands that the Trump Organization turn over ALL of its business records in order to determine how much Trump profited from foreign governments.
This is exactly how you catch a crook...
Raskin, who is the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, is calling for the records in question because he believes that it's the only way to obtain a full picture of Trump's criminal presidency.
Raskin's new letter comes in the wake of a bombshell report from the committee which exposed Trump for earning roughly $8 million from foreign governments while he controlled the Oval Office.
Not surprisingly, Trump failed to disclose these massive profits to Congress. Raskin convincingly argues that this failure is a blatant violation of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.
Raskin slammed the Trump Organization for sending a letter to reject his previous call for them to return the ill-gotten profits. He said that the letter is "an admission that, without congressional consent, he collected while in office at least $7.8 million from at least 20 foreign governments—with the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia being his leading patrons."
"You conspicuously do not dispute the millions of dollars that foreign governments spent at Trump-owned properties, the identities of the corrupt and autocratic governments that spent those sums, or the myriad policy favors and changes that those governments were seeking to obtain from the Trump Administration—and, in numerous cases, did obtain—at the time they were filling Trump’s pockets," Raskin wrote.
"Nor do you dispute that the former President never came to Congress to disclose the foreign government payments he wanted to accept or to seek congressional consent to keep them—as the Foreign Emoluments Clause required him to do," he went on.
"Perhaps if you pile up all the foreign state money former President Trump received while in office, the stack will reach as high as the Washington Monument, and we could call it the ‘Washington Emolument,’" wrote Raskin.
As usual, Raskin nailed it. We need more public servants like this holding Trump and his MAGA mafia accountable.

The 14th Amendment's 'insurrection clause' ANTICIPATED Trump. FCS.
No foreign ally leader would invite anyone on a neo Trump team or confide anything significant. Nor could our top military leaders share intel with them.
He can't be TRUSTED. He's only useful to Putin now.
The 14th Amendment's 'insurrection clause' does apply to the presidency.
More than any other office. FCS.
They spelled it out clearly, like the 2A. Well-regulated. Guardrails. Civil Society. ⛪️// 🏛️. There is no ambiguity or special exceptions. Stop making them.
NEW: THREAD: As many of you know, the trump administration fired me from the VA and investigated the Mueller, She Wrote podcast. I am now suing them for RETALIATION FOR PROTECTED SPEECH and CONSPIRACY among other things, and as of Friday, donald trump HAS BEEN SERVED. 1/
Dear Ma & Pa MAGA,
Donald Trump called himself the “jobs” President.
He wasn’t.
He was however, the only president in the last 80 years to net job losses during his term.
In fact, statistically speaking, he was the worst jobs president in history.
Joe Biden has created 13.9 million jobs.
And his first two years in office—2021 and 2022—were the two strongest years of job growth in history.
Donald Trump promised the economy would grow “to 4, 5, and maybe even 6%…”
It didn’t.
In fact, it never got above 3.5%.
Under Biden, the economy grew 4.9% in the third quarter of this year alone.
Donald Trump promised to lower prescription drug prices.
He didn’t.
But Biden did.
In fact, he finally beat Big Pharma and allowed Medicare to directly negotiate lower drug prices.
And as a result, 4 million seniors on Medicare have now seen their insulin costs capped at $35 a month.
And remember that “great big beautiful wall” Mexico was going to pay for.
Well, the little that did get built was paid for by taking money from our own Defense Department.
Not Mexico.
President Biden, on the other hand — did get Mexico to pay $1.5 billion for U.S. border security. And none of their former Presidents have ever given him the finger. Certainly not multiple times.
And just as an aside, when Donald Trump claimed to be the “law and order” President, 91 charges and a mug shot later, it turns out that he meant he would be the recipient of the MOST law and order.
President Biden may have gotten a parking ticket. Once. Maybe.
Not sure.
The infrastructure deal Trump promised “in two weeks”, Biden delivered, the manufacturing jobs he was going to “bring back”, Biden returned, the corporations who never “trickled down” their tax breaks, Biden wants paying their fair share, and the world leaders who laughed at Donald Trump, are standing in solidarity with Biden instead.
Trump didn’t put “America first”, he didn’t “make it great again”, he put himself first in a country he was then and is now, trying to destroy.
He’s not a self-made business genius, he’s a nepotistic fraud, he’s not a family man, he’s a philanderer who opines about his daughter’s sex life, he’s not devout, he’s devious, and he’s not a patriot, he’s a traitor. One who is currently charged with trying to overturn an election he lost by any means necessary. Including violence.
And while I know that when he confuses the name of the town he’s in, you’ll call him smart, and when he threatens to execute our top General, you call him “strong”, and when he gets arrested you’ll buy the t-shirt, and that nothing I can ever tell you or show you or prove to you will change your mind about him, but it still needs to be said.
So I said it.
BREAKING: Republican Congressman Ken Buck torches his own party and announces that he will not seek re-election because they have completely lost their way.
This takedown is absolutely brutal...
Buck, a right-wing representative from Colorado, slammed the Republican Party as a whole for embracing Donald Trump's deranged and wholly debunked lie that the 2020 election was stolen.
Buck also pointed to the failure of many of his Republican colleagues to condemn the deadly January 6th insurrection as a source for serious concern.
"We lost our way," said Buck. "We have an identity crisis in the Republican Party. If we can’t address the election denier issue and we continue down that path, we won’t have credibility with the American people that we are going to solve problems."
During an interview on MSNBC, Buck said that he has always have been disappointed with our inability in congress to deal with major issues."
"And I'm also disappointed that the Republican party continues to rely on this lie that the 2020 election was stolen and rely on the January 6th narrative and political prisoners from January 6th and other things," he added.
"If we're going to solve difficult problems we've got to deal with some very unpleasant truths — or lies — and make sure that we project to the public what the truth is he," he said.
Clearly, Buck is horrified by the Trumpification of his party. MAGA has infected the Republican Party to its core and any politician who remains in at this point is doing a grave disservice to America.
Please retweet and ❤️ if you think that more Republicans should step away from politics — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a “woke” new Twitter competitor that is exploding in popularity because it banned Trump for life and because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/HnJzSKjCwX
I have a question for working class MAGA:
Republicans ran on lowering inflation, bringing down the cost of eggs and milk and gasoline, etc… and since they’ve had control of the House, they’ve done absolutely nothing about any of that. Nothing.
And what are they doing now?
They’re attempting to use a crisis in Israel to make sure that wealthy tax cheats here can get away with cheating on their taxes.
That’s what they care about.
They don’t care about you.
They’ve never cared about you.
They’re not even pretending anymore to care about you.
They care about making sure their rich friends & donors get richer.
By cheating you.
Pres. Biden is trying to make rich tax cheats pay their fair share.
You have to pay your taxes.
Shouldn’t billionaires have to pay theirs too?
The folks you sent to Congress don’t seem to think so.
So the question is…
Are you ok with that?
BREAKING: Washington Post drops Wednesday bombshell on Trump and his children, revealing that he is “livid” and “deeply worried” that New York Attorney General Letitia James is coming after his “family’s brand” and “inheritance” to his children.
But it gets WORSE for Trump…
The Washington Post says that Ivanka Trump has decided to “step away” from defending her father because she is “stung by the scrutiny” that her dad’s political career had brought upon their criminal family enterprise.
One Trump insider told the Washington Post that “everything” about New York’s massive fraud case against the Trump Organization “makes him angry — including that it’s hurting his children. The trial strikes at his identity and the family. His kids, what he’s been able to build over years and years and years.”
The Washington Post report continues, revealing that “Trump’s children have not been that involved in his current bid for the presidency” because they are desperately trying to “cool off” and distance themselves from Donald’s countless criminal trials — and because “the presidency was painful for everyone in the family on some level. You have subpoenas, legal bills, investigations, testimony, terrible news stories, the constant spotlight.”
Adding insult to injury for Donald Trump, the Washington Post report reveals that a Trump insider says that “the family has grown more conspiratorial and now is leery of enemies around every corner.”
So there you have it, folks…
Accountability is finally arriving for the Trump family — and they are freaking out and spiraling into a paranoid frenzy.
It couldn’t happen to a “nicer” family…
Please retweet and ❤️ if you’re GLAD that Trump and his corrupt family are FINALLY being held accountable — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a woke new Twitter competitor that banned Trump for life and is exploding in popularity because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/HnJzSKjCwX
