BUSINESS NEWS | Property firm bets on global markets in strategic rebrand
HARARE β Real estate brokerage House of Stone Properties has rebranded as HSP Realty, marking a strategic shift as the company seeks to broaden its reach beyond the domestic market and position itself for cross-border growth in an increasingly international property industry.
The rebranding reflects a wider ambition to build a corporate identity capable of resonating with investors, developers and property buyers across multiple markets, as real estate businesses face growing pressure to compete for international capital and diaspora investment.
The company said the transition to HSP Realty was designed to establish a shorter and more recognisable brand while preserving the business it has built in Zimbabwe.
"Because the future of real estate is global, we have adopted a shorter, stronger, and more memorable brand that reflects our expanding international presence and our commitment to world-class service," said Leonita Mhishi, the firm's Principal Registered Estate Agent.
The move illustrates how Zimbabwean property firms are increasingly seeking to align themselves with a market in which capital, clients, and investment opportunities are becoming less constrained by geography. A stronger corporate identity, international partnerships, and broader advisory capabilities are emerging as competitive differentiators as firms pursue regional and global transactions alongside domestic business.
HSP Realty said the rebrand would be supported by strengthened leadership, enhanced service standards, and a diversified professional team serving both local and international clients. The company added that it was leveraging strategic global partnerships to expand opportunities for property buyers, sellers, investors, and developers.
"The change is intended to create a more recognisable brand identity capable of operating across borders while maintaining its presence in the domestic market," the company said.
Mhishi described the move as a strategic evolution rather than a departure from the company's foundations.
"This is not just a rebrand; it's a statement of intent," she said.
"We are building a real estate company that competes globally while remaining grounded in the values that made House of Stone Properties a trusted name in Zimbabwe."
The company said all existing agreements and ongoing transactions would continue without disruption under the HSP Realty brand, with its headquarters remaining in Borrowdale, Harare, as it pursues growth beyond Zimbabwe's borders.

@TheLifeZoomer This raises an important question: where do we draw the line between necessary context and unnecessary sensationalism? It's a discussion worth having.
Each time I become disillusioned with social media, I remind myself of the good it can do.
Over a year ago, this young man got in touch with me through my inbox. He had 20 points at A-Level, but he did not have two coins to rub together. He had no money to pursue his dream.
I shared his story, and a good Samaritan who did not want to be known stepped forward and paid US$20,000 for his full university education. That money covers his six years at medical school, including accommodation and tuition fees.
This young man has come top of his class in all the exams written so far.
These are the good stories that come from social media and from the use of my platforms. They make me rethink each time I feel like walking away.
If we all used social media for good instead of trading insults, the world would become a better place. Imagine how many lives could be transformed if we spent as much time lifting one another up as we do tearing each other down.
