Pas il y a mille ans.
Pas dans un autre pays.
Chez nous. En France.

1938
Une femme n’est plus légalement tenue d’obéir à son mari.

1944
Les femmes obtiennent enfin le droit de vote.

1965
Une femme peut travailler et ouvrir un compte bancaire sans autorisation.

1975
La loi Veil légalise l’avortement.
Le corps des femmes cesse (un peu) d’appartenir aux autres.

1980
Le viol est reconnu comme un crime.

1993
L’autorité parentale devient réellement partagée.

1996
La notion de “chef de famille” disparaît.

2000
L’égalité femmes-hommes entre enfin dans la loi… sur le papier.

Tout ça est récent.
Très récent.

Alors non, les droits des femmes ne sont pas “acquis depuis toujours”.
Ils ont été arrachés.
Et rien ne garantit qu’ils le resteront.

Republicans need to decide which position they actually hold. You can’t argue that people have a legal right to carry a gun anywhere, at any time, and then claim the government is justified in killing someone after they have been disarmed simply because they were previously legally armed.
