Here's what's at risk when the Law is only applied as a tool to keep the working-class in line and not justly across all members of society:

Literal dissolution and re-establishment of the society through violent revolution or conquest.

Society is at it's heart an agreement on a system of rules for the right functioning of said society. This usually requires someone to be given positions of authority to execute justice, and so judges to make judgements according to 'the rules', and police or city guard or what-have-you to enforce these are part of the social contract.

When the contract is broken by the judiciary and the enforcers, the deal is at risk of being off, the longer injustice prevails in the land, the closer that society is coming to a reset: The people overthrowing (and killing) the corrupt (retributive justice to recompence the perceived injustices), and the establishment of a new system and new agreement, with appropriate threats that the new authorities better deal justly or suffer the same fate.

History is just this process on repeat, ignore it at our peril.
