Law is important for a society as through fair laws and an impartial judiciary, citizens are assured stability, equality, and open access to justice when needed. According to the UN Global Compact, this “ultimately leads to respect for human rights and the environment. It also helps lower levels of corruption and instances of violent conflict.”

The legal education serves the society by imparting law students legal, general and cultural education, making them not just good law-abiding citizens but also law enactment agents. Good legal education also instills the significance and relevance of democratic culture in the students.

Therefore, law, legal education and development have become interrelated concepts in modern developing societies, which are struggling to develop into social welfare states and are seeking to ameliorate the socio-economic condition of the people by peaceful means. The same is true for our country. It is a crucial function of legal education to produce lawyers with a social vision in a developing country.
