"Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm."

This was not even said by Jesus, and it was not referring to prophets. It's high time we discussed this because they have used this scripture to turn Nigerian Christians to mumu. What does the scripture say?

Walk with me....

It first appeared in 1st Chronicles 16: 15-22 when David presented the Ark before God and offered burnt offerings and thanksgiving. He was referring to how God delivered the Isrealites as they journeyed from Egypt to the promise land in fulfilment of his promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
“To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.”

When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it, they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake, he rebuked kings: "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."

The Psalmist then echoed it in his own thanksgiving in Ps 105 vs 8-15 in his praise of God for keeping his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

He hath remembered his covenant forever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance. When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it. When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

So the "Anointed and Prophets" scripture was talking about is the whole tribe of Isreal, not Moses, not the Priests of Levi. THE WHOLE Israel. I don't know how your pastors twisted it to mean pastors and prophets. They have used the scripture to lie to you to avoid accountability. Now you can't call them out because "touch not my anointed." You are God's anointed. You are the body of Christ. You have the power to condemn the failings of the pastors. It is important you know your place in Christ.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba Father.” 
 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
