Important message here from the US ambassador to Iraq.
Worth adding that the KRG has been central to increasing the country’s bankable population + strengthening the regulator.
The Kurdistan Region of Iraq will see financial inclusion grow from 5% last year to nearly 50% over the next two years.
We’re glad to be working with three banks that have direct relationships with US correspondent banks.
This is especially important given Iraq’s access to the fed wire system will come to a close soon. That means all @cbiraq-licensed banks must build their own relationships with US banks to deal in USD.
That’s good for the banks, economy and the country as a whole.
Exciting times. #MyAccount

Ainkawa is a flourishing community of new cathedrals, bustling shops, and people rebuilding their lives.
It will soon enjoy a new park and over 700 homes for the vulnerable.
Ainkawa, and the alchemy of coexistence thriving here, is a source of pride to us all.
“Our dedicated #My_account staff are working tirelessly from early morning, assisting and guiding government employees with their salary withdrawals.
Proud to support and make the process easier for all!

Observers of Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and beyond ought to watch my colleague Kak @heminhawrami's two-part interview on the post-2003 Iraq, the war on ISIS and intra-Kurdish political rifts.
His insights into the referendum — the diplomatic engagements leading up to the big day, the bitter aftermath, and the profound shift in the Kurdish perspectives — still burns. He also chronicles many of the broken promises by KRG's partners.
Must watch.

Over 12,000 Peshmerga from the unified brigades will be paid digitally this week.
This has been, for many years now, a reform initiative pushed and encouraged by our international partners.
By the end of the year, all unified brigades will move to digital.
