@E_T_Deehan Ah ok. Yes I think I saw something on LinkedIn. I've finished my qualification, but just concerned how it impacts on colleagues or future trainees really.
This was the same for most of the others who completed their Masters part-time on my course. I also took a gap to work and save in between BSc and MSc. With the current cost of living crisis, this may not be a realistic option for many as entry level pay is not enough to save.
I can't speak for the clinical psych side of things, but as a forensic psych from a working class background, I'd say it is doable but it is hard. I worked full-time to support myself while completing a part-time Masters, and then my stage 2 was funded by my employer.
@psychmag I hadn't given it much thought before undergrad and then we weren't really given any guidance as to the different fields of Psychology and what is required to actually gain a career. More definitely should be done early on around guiding students or providing advice.
