🗣️ Arsène Wenger: “There is a structural problem here that people do not want to discuss properly. PSG can postpone Ligue 1 matches when it suits them. They can move a domestic fixture to protect their players for the Champions League, arrive fully fit, fully prepared, and then play a team that has just come through a full Premier League weekend with no such option.

“That is not squad management. That is a competitive advantage the other clubs do not have. In England, in Spain, in Germany, the league schedule is fixed. You play when you are told. You cannot ring the league and ask them to move the game because you have a Champions League match four days later. PSG can. And they use it.

“Add to that the level of the domestic competition. When the gap between first and the rest is so large, you can rest half your team, protect key players from fatigue and injury, and still win the league comfortably. The others cannot do the same. They have to play their best players every week just to stay in the race. Then they meet PSG in Europe and the French side have fresher legs, fewer minutes in their legs, and a better recovery window.

“I managed in the Premier League for many years. I know what it costs to compete on both fronts with no flexibility in the calendar. The physical and mental load is different. When one club can choose when it plays its league games and the others cannot, the Champions League is no longer being contested on equal terms.

“People will say every big club rotates. That is true. But rotation is one thing. The ability to postpone a league match so your entire squad is fresh for Europe is another. That is an advantage the rules of the competition allow, and it is an advantage that makes the path easier for one team than for the others. If we want a fair Champions League, these differences have to be addressed. Otherwise we are simply watching some teams play under different conditions than the rest.”

Sepak bola Indonesia, khususnya Madura kehilangan salah satu sosok paling tulus dan setia. Perjalanan panjang Mbah Hosen tercatat abadi dalam sejarah berupa dedikasi nyata di atas pagar tribun, mengawal marwah klub tanah kelahirannya, Madura United FC, melewati pasang surut kompetisi tanpa pernah berpaling sedikit pun.

Kehadiran fisik beliau di stadion hingga menit-menit menjelang akhir hayatnya menjadi saksi bahwa cinta pada sebuah klub sepak bola telah mendarah daging. Riuh serta nyanyian di tribun kini tak lagi sama, namun ketulusan almarhum saat mendampingi perjuangan Laskar Sapeh Kerrab akan selalu dikenang dalam ingatan kolektif para pecinta bola tanah air.

Bukan cuma jargon teknis doang, tapi cara dia nge-breakdown situasi di lapangan bikin orang yang gak paham taktik pun ngerti apa yang terjadi.

Ini kombinasi yang sebenernya langka di dunia sepak bola: banyak eks pemain top punya "ball knowledge" bagus, tapi gak semua bisa nerjemahin pemahaman itu jadi komunikasi yang jelas ke orang lain.
