I was at the barbershop the other day, and I became miserable at the filthy music videos that dominate the modern music industry.
I had to rescue my little son from the sodomic atmosphere while I endured the evil entertainment until it was my turn to have my haircut.
But it also occurred to me how much negative influence can be exerted upon young, innocent boys just by creating an environment of vulgar speech and lewd music.
Perhaps if we had more "Christian barbers" who would not allow their offices to be a recruiting centre for immoral sexuality and ungodly interactions, then many young men could find God and learn godliness by Christian barbers simply using their spaces as a platform to showcase the light and truth of Christian virtues of excellent, diligent labour.
Unfortunately, many Christians think they are only influential through mountains of finance, politics and other big spheres,
Meanwhile, God may do so much more with Faithful Christian mechanics, maids, barbers, and other seemingly insignificant "valleys" of influence.
Hopefully, we learn to let God's light shine through us whether on the mountain or in the valleys.
@Ehdeekancharly@JudahMaiye This one is even more serious. It was very needful that you changed your barber... As for your new barber, you can politely ask if he doesn't mind if he plays Christian songs while you are around, if he doesn't have any, you can share your Bluetooth with him
Do not make the mistake to think that you cannot legitimately prosecute a 6-hour prayer session ONLY in tongues.
You can.
As long as you are not tonguing mindlessly, you can pray ALL of your prayers for that session in tongues. You can.
Don't get it twisted. You should carry your mind along in prayer. But that doesn't necessarily mean you'd be doing large swatches of the prayer with your understanding. It might. But not necessarily.
The model is still: Pray in the spirit, with your spirit and your understanding.
And if praying in the Spirit means ONLY praying with your spirit, then by all means pray in the Spirit.
If praying in the Spirit means ONLY praying with your understanding, please pray in the Spirit.
If praying in the Spirit means utilizing your spirit and your understanding in prayer, do it.
Just pray in the Spirit.
@JudahMaiye When I go to the barbershop in my area, I politely request to them to play Christian songs till I leave, fortunately, the barber doesn't argue with me... Before now I used to be bothered going to cut my hair cos I didn't have a say on the choice of music
I have heard You calling my name, Lord, and I have heard the song of love You sing over my life. Today, as I step into a new year, I choose to let You draw me out beyond the safety of the shore and directly into the depths of Your grace.
Happy birthday 🎈
@RasineIrem When I go to the barbershop, I request he plays only Christian songs until I'm done and he obliges, the ones that insist on their secular playlist, I stop patronizing them...
Faith does not automatically erase the obvious, but it provides us with an unwavering assurance and infallible proof that we can trust the Lord and rest on His Word. Furthermore, faith does not negate being rational; rather, it is about accepting and living within God's rationale
