@PeteSikora1 This is not an accurate characterization of the BAAJA bill nor supporters.
Its strongest supporters are clean energy developers, who actually have faith in their own product.
@Johnmayor39@briantashman Glossing what over? I’m obviously painting in broad strokes. I’ve met many Muslims and found them all to be good people. But there’s a problem with violence in the faith, and no honest historian can deny it.
@oneplunk@briantashman@mehdirhasan I’m in the fifth dimension bro. Israel has only existed for .2% of Jewish history. Especially the last 2000 years they’ve been mostly kicked around.
The only nonviolent Muslim countries are the authoritarian ones… and then the ones east of India, we should study them.
@RepTeresaLF I think it’s great that you want to support the bill. The Native American groups don’t seem capable of agreeing on any changes. Maybe they don’t recognize the problem at all. I think you should just ignore them.
The only way it doesn’t lower emissions is if technology suddenly stops advancing and even regresses a little, which doesn’t really seem possible for things like energy.
Renewables are already cheaper and faster to build than fossil fuel. Space is a constraint, but that is solved by long HV transmission lines. Even new fossil fuel is cleaner than old fossil fuel.
The far more likely scenario, advances in renewable tech and efficiency, will allow that innovation to spread around the globe and decarbonize everywhere a lot faster. Look at the efficiency of Chinese batteries… You only get that with repetition and innovation.
Permitting Reform unleashes the future. Voting against BAAJA is a vote for the status quo.
Remember when people forewarned us that big Democratic victories in the midterms would mislead Democrats into thinking they had a good policy agenda or a mandate from the American people? This is what they were talking about. All of your ideas are still retarded. The Republicans have just fucked up more recently.
@RepRashida@RashidaTlaib@Rep_Grijalva@RepSummerLee So you obviously know nothing about what’s making costs go up. But do you understand why dirty coal power plants keep running in the inner cities? No because you don’t understand how anything works.
@NicoPortuondo@pavanmacharya These guys refused to participate even though this debate has been going on for five years, and they’re shocked when they got pushed aside
"Nothing prevents Trump from finding other ways, later, to block or delay these projects. And there's nothing to end the obstruction/delay of hundreds of other clean energy projects"
#BAAJA would, if Congress passes it.
@Johnmayor39@briantashman Yes. However I don’t think it’s bigotry. Americans don’t have a problem with Muslims from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, even India. I think they have an ideological problem with people who celebrated 9/11 in the streets.
@campaignist1@Johnmayor39@briantashman Yeah some. But are you insulating the Islamic faith against criticism by deflecting to the majority race of its adherents? Or are you suggesting it’s a violent faith because most followers are brown or black?
