@Maydhalaalis I lived in Abu Dhabi for 7 years, so it holds a special place in my heart too. An Emirati colleague once asked where I was from. I said Somaliland, expecting him to say the usual “Somalia?”instead he showed me a photo of Sheikh Zayed with Abdirahman Tuur, رحمهما الله.❤️
So the burqa and niqab are “un-British” and “unwanted”?
You know what is un-British? Telling women what they can and can’t wear.
This isn’t about safety — it’s about control.
MPs didn’t sign your motion because they still recognise fascism when they see it.

The irony is outrageous. All week I’ve listened to @LBC callers, mostly men rant about women being forced to wear the burkha, while in the same breath calling for women to be forced not to wear it. You’re not against control. You just want to be the ones in control.

@zayibby This is more than a milestone, it’s a message: Somaliland is rising, stronger and prouder than ever!
Proud of my country. Proud of my brother Dr. Mohammed Hassan (Yusuf) & his colleagues behind this 👏🏽👏🏽❤️❤️
Huge congratulations to Dr. Mohammed Yusuf and his colleagues for successfully performing the first ever open heart surgery in Somaliland!
A historic achievement that marks a new chapter in our nation’s healthcare journey.
Thank you for showing what’s possible. 🫀💪🏽
