Does your school allow your students to carry their backpacks to classrooms? My school requires the students to leave their backpacks in their lockers. I feel like it causes the issue of the students not having all of their materials with them.
I just completed my literature review assignment for EDUC 602 and it was on flipped classrooms. I love how this class correlates with that topic because of how much technology has taken over.
@SpencerNoble20 I have tables in my room that I move around. I first had them in pods for a while until state testing. I moved them so the students face away from desk so I could see their screens.
What is your go to when you need to waste some class time but want your students to take a break from learning? What activities or games do you have them do?
Between WeVideo, Screencastify, and VoiceThread, which tool do you like using better? Do you see yourself using all of them or one specifically this coming year? #peru552
Here is a link to an article that I found a while back about whether or not flipped classrooms are more stressful or not. https://t.co/oU3Bomj3Ls #peru552
@misswebber23 I love this! My 8th graders sometimes needs a break from work so I have playdough, fidget toys, and rubric cubes that they can play with.
@SpencerNoble20 My school is Google based so I love using them. I think they are handy to use and the thing I love the most is that it automatically saves so if my computer shuts down, I know the document is still there.
Does everyone else's school have students read to get a certain amount of points each year? If so, what do you do to help your students meet their goal each semester? I would give my students time during a reading intervention class to read but I won't have that this year.
Has everyone heard about the new app Instagram has created called "Threads"? I am looking forward to trying it and possibly using it in my classroom this year.
Do many of you assign IXL for homework? In 8th grade, we do not assign IXL but I believe the 6th grade teachers do. How do you feel about the app/website? Do you think it is helpful or does it cause more stress for students?
I saw this photo on Facebook and wanted to share it. I believe that we need to do this more and remind kids that there is more than just going to college! I love to provide the students with all of the options they have!
Because my school pretty much revolves around technology, it is used in my classroom daily! I have an active board in my room that I really started to use this last year. It is nice to use to write on and to erase, you click a button.
