We built https://t.co/TyNkDxnlFE and $LAYOFF to keep tabs on every major layoff in 2026. To hold companies accountable when they fire American workers and file for cheaper foreign labor in the same quarter.
This is the largest shift in labor since the Industrial Revolution. We keep tabs on it all. The good. The bad. The ugly. The data.
The numbers right now:
580,000+ people have lost their jobs from major companies in 2026
215+ companies
230 separate layoff rounds
3,100+ jobs cut per day
Tech, finance, healthcare, retail, auto, media, telecom, manufacturing. Nobody is safe.
The last time we pinned a tweet, 41,000 of you were following. Today it is 50,000+, with 55 million+ impressions. And this stopped being a niche story.
Ron DeSantis used our data to call H-1B "a total scam" and "indentured servitude." He pushed Florida's public universities to pause H-1B hiring for a year. Newsweek cited our visa research last week and called us "a workforce analytics firm." An anonymous account with a spreadsheet became a research operation that newsrooms cite.
The receipts keep stacking. Our H-1B tool holds 6.8 million+ DOL filings across 238,000+ employers, free to search. Look up any company and see exactly who files for visas while cutting American staff. We cross-reference the layoff data against the filings and publish investigations with companies named. Journalists and researchers download our datasets free.
Last month, we partnered with Wekruit to help connect those laid off with high paying start ups and get them back in the work force. You can browse our open roles at https://t.co/qRFqcjFuJA.
Real openings from companies that are actually hiring. You interview directly with hiring managers. No resume black hole. No ghost listings. The same site that shows you who is cutting now shows you who is hiring. We spent all year tracking the layoffs. Now we can get you hired.
$LAYOFF is the stake behind the work. Every week brings another round of cuts. The story is not going away, and neither are we. A people movement that happens to have a token.
We will be here for you every step of the way.
TEXAS IS FINALLY COUNTING H-1B WORKERS IN ITS SCHOOLS
The comptroller's review of four districts will count employees and contractors on H-1B visas, according to internal records seen by the Dallas Morning News.
Austin ISD is one of them. It had 8 certified H-1B filings in DOL's latest disclosure file. All 8 were at Level I, the lowest wage level. Most were for bilingual teachers.
Dallas ISD is not in the review. They are actually the 160th highest filing “employer” of H-1B in the nation. A Texas school district!!
They employs more H-1B holders than any district or public university in the state.
EA SHUT DOWN BIOWARE TODAY. THE NEXT MASS EFFECT IS CANCELED.
About 400 jobs are being cut, roughly 3% of EA's workforce.
This is EA's first major restructuring since its $55 billion take-private deal closed in August.
The company says it will support affected staff in "exploring other opportunities within EA."
EA kept filing for visa workers this year. DOL's latest disclosure file shows 111 certified H-1B filings, 44 of them for new employment, at a median wage of $156,350.

This is Amazon's customer service. I just called and received a rude woman in what was clearly a LOUD, India based called center.
Outsourcing to India is one thing, but when I can barely hear the woman because of noise in the background...
$20 AN HOUR FOR THE HOLIDAY RUSH. $142,800 FOR THE H-1B VISA HIRES.
Amazon cut about 30,000 corporate jobs since October 2025. In the same months it filed over 20,000 H-1B applications. This doesn’t even take into account L-1, H4-EAD and all working student visas (where they also rank number 1 in the country).
Now it is hiring 300,000 for the holidays. Seasonal workers average $20 an hour. Their job is gone in January.
The median wage on Amazon's H-1B filings is $142,800. The top title is Software Developers.
Those are the jobs apparently not available to Americans. Seasonal delivery drivers, though? Come on down!
PAYPAL IS CUTTING ITS SENIOR ENGINEERS AND DIRECTORS IN SAN JOSE, HIRING H-1B FOR SAME ROLES
The California WARN notice lists 251 permanent layoffs at PayPal's San Jose headquarters, effective October 30. More than 50 are senior software engineers and nearly 50 are directors.
From October 2025 to June 2026, PayPal has filed 1,155 LCA's for H-1B employees, at least 443 of them in San Jose.
192 were for senior software engineer titles.
YOUR HOSPITAL'S RECORD SYSTEM CAN BE SUPPORTED FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY, AND NO FEDERAL RULE MAKES ANYONE TELL YOU
Your health data is sitting in India. Legally. Think about that.
Altera sells Sunrise, Paragon, TouchWorks and dbMotion, software that holds patient charts for hospitals and physician practices. It bought that business from Allscripts in 2022 for $670 million.
Altera's own office list shows Pune and Baroda in India. Its careers site lists 21 open India roles today, from 24/7 database monitoring to Citrix work that sets standards for "all customer environments."
HIPAA allows offshore access to patient records under a business associate contract. HHS says its rules have no requirements written specifically for data handled outside the US.
Texas requires health records to be stored in the US, and Florida requires the US or Canada. Neither law says where the person opening the record may sit.
Medicare makes its private health plans report offshore subcontractors that handle patient data. Hospitals and their software vendors face no matching federal rule.
To add insult to injury? Altera is now laying off Americans.
WARN NOTICE - NEW YORK 🇺🇸
Altera Digital Health, Inc. will lay off 133 employees at 3 Huntington Quadrangle, 2nd Floor North in Melville on December 31, 2026.
IU POSTS H-1B NOTICES AFTER IT HAS ALREADY PICKED THE HIRE
How is this legal?
IU's page says the candidates "have already been selected."
Indiana University had 266 certified H-1B filings from October 2025 to June 2026. 62% were at the lowest wage level (entry level).
🚨 Wow. Taxpayer-funded Indiana University just disclosed it’s hiring TWO foreigners on H-1B visas as data analysts. One even gets to work remotely from a house near Indianapolis.
The same university has awarded thousands of degrees in data and computer science.
Indiana should ban hiring foreign workers in its own state government

RUBIO CALLED ANTI-INDIAN HATERS "STUPID" AND "DUMB."
The Indian Express asked him about the H-1B debate the same day.
His answer: "we have seen many of these programmes being abused," and the fixes are "not targeted towards India."
I agree on hate not leading to violence. I do not agree on the fixes not being targeted toward India.
On Oct 8, the Labor Department suspended eight companies from the green card labor program.
Four of the eight are Indian companies. Seven of the eight are run by CEOs from India.
This is just straight fact and data, not hate.
The seven companies:
TCS: based in Mumbai, CEO K. Krithivasan.
Infosys: based in Bengaluru, CEO Salil Parekh.
Wipro: based in Bengaluru, CEO Srini Pallia.
HCLTech: based in Noida, CEO C. Vijayakumar.
Cognizant: US company based in New Jersey. CEO Ravi Kumar S started his career in India and was president of Infosys until 2022.
Microsoft: CEO Satya Nadella is from India and moved to the US in 1988.
Adobe: CEO Shantanu Narayen is from India. Anil Chakravarthy takes over Dec 1, and he also got his first degree in India.
Journalist: People are worried about rising anti-Indian hate in the United States right now
Secretary Rubio: There are individuals within our country, sadly, who are stupid, who are dumb or hateful. I don’t believe anti-India hate in the US is widespread

DOJ SAYS "H-1B ONLY" JOB AD IS ALLOWED
Are we serious?
In August, a Justice Department immigration judge ruled that a discriminatory job ad is not a standalone violation of immigration law. The ad only counts as evidence inside a bigger case, like an American who applied and got passed over.
Attorney General Todd Blanche had 60 days to review it, and 13 House members asked him to. He let it stand, and DOJ told Breitbart the ruling is "consistent with OCAHO precedent."
Title VII bans discriminatory job ads. The immigration law has no ad clause.
DOJ won $5 million from Instacart yesterday. PERM case. Good. That case needed Americans who were shut out of real openings.
But - apparently advertising an H-1B only job is fine!
Until Congress writes an ad ban into the law, "H-1B only" stays fair game.
DoJ's @AGToddBlanche helps CEOs advertise jobs to only H-1B contract workers, via new 'H1Bs-are-minorities-too' policy.
6th Circuit can reverse this discrimination for India's US economy, which clearly clashes with @VP Vance's #H1B reforms.

META REPORTS EARNINGS TODAY. ASK ABOUT THE 6,000 JOBS IT NEVER FILLED.
In May, Meta laid off about 8,000 people, roughly 10% of staff. It also canceled plans to hire for 6,000 open roles to help cover its AI spending.
From October 2025 through June 2026, Meta had over 5,000 H-1B labor applications certified by the Labor Department. That was the fourth-highest count of any employer in the file.
So, 8,000 jobs cut. 6,000 never hired. 5,150 H-1B employees hired or renewed. Got it.
Since then, reports say Meta shelved a second wave of cuts and asked some former managers to lead teams again.
Watching closely.
$META looks increasingly constructive heading into earnings tomorrow. The stock has broadly followed the bullish path I've been tracking for months with structure only improving
Zuckerberg may have identified an important gap in how AI agents reach everyday consumers. Muse has already seen 10 million downloads and has distribution through an ecosystem that already reaches billions of people across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. That's always been META'S competitive advantage.
Muse is mobile-first, has a conversational interface, an always-on agent capable of continuing tasks in the background without requiring constant prompting. Has the ability to coordinate shopping, bookings, and other transactions across third-party services, with user approval for sensitive actions.
Most AI companies are trying to build distribution around their intelligence. Meta already has distribution, established consumer relationships, an advertising ecosystem, and access to millions of businesses looking to reach those consumers. Muse gives Meta another layer through which to connect all of that.
And, if AI agents increasingly become the interface through which consumers discover products, make decisions, and transact, the economics could extend well beyond subscriptions into commerce, advertising, and business services.
@cpf_taxed I assure you I’m not a socialist “Bernie Type,” my friend
You can trace back to how Microsoft lobbyists bribed our government into the original H-1B visa laws.
I also disagree that our voices don’t matter. The louder we get, the more likely those representatives listen.
Bill Gates and Microsoft are the reason the H-1B visa exists.
In March 2007, he testified before the Senate.
He was asked whether the H-1B cap should go to 200,000, or 300,000.
He answered: "even though it may not be realistic, I don't think there should be any limit."
@ChillMode2345 The most recent public data (2024) lists Microsoft among the top employers (roughly 1,066 OPT, 1,496 STEM OPT, and 819 CPT students in the available reports). These are aggregated, not full case-level datasets like the LCA files.
@USLaborIG when can we get this kind of data?
XBOX HAS CUT 1,868 OF A PLANNED 3,200 JOBS
Microsoft said the cut roles were not replaced by AI.
Turns out they were replaced with visa workers.
In the 9 months before July, it filed 1,262 new-hire H-1B applications, up from 661 in the same stretch three years earlier.
MICROSOFT RESPONDS TO THIS MORNINGS VISA BAN
Someone please tell them that 6,000 renewals WHILE LAYING OFF AMERICANS is just as bad as issuing new visas.
@cpf_taxed Microsoft visa filings are public data. Directly correlating them to the Xbox layoffs is inference. Microsoft as a whole is clearly doing this.
Given there is a public federal case against them regarding American layoffs and visa hirings, we might actually get to find out.
Can we back pay @JobsNowPR for today’s Instacart announcement?
Let’s also give 1% to @nickshirleyy for Minnesota and California.
They’re both patriots and both have earned it.
President Donald J. Trump announces the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program:
"All Americans will now be able to go to the https://t.co/6noiOHIBKU and report cases of corruption and theft of taxpayer dollars in their communities... If you turn somebody in and you let's say report and find $1 billion, we are giving a commission to that person of 1%. That's a lot of money."
