@LiamJacobsZA and the @Our_DA's euphoria over his return will - not might, it will - cost the party votes in the election. And, yes, I'm aware the election is many months away, but the voting public will remember this. And not fondly ...
So before fixing taxis, buses or trains for normal people, Gauteng first pays billions to keep the Gautrain alive 😭 We’re actually been subsidising this thing to tune of 23 billion
@BernardJansen Sadly it is in a country with such extremes as ours. Gautrain stations have some of the biggest car parks in the province - people who use the service are already mobile; some people in other areas of the province still walk kms to work - for me, it's about priorities
And herein lies the rub ... Gautrain is world-class, clean, safe, and efficient; it always receives clean audits and has won awards for its Annual Reports (!) ... okay, fine. The real question should be whether the service is needed in the first place or whether investment must be made in improving existing infrastructure to increase mobility for everyone (not just those who already are mobile ...)
Before a cent is spent on public transport, the Gauteng govt pays billions to the private company running the Gautrain. Why? Govt subsidises low passenger numbers - about R23 billion since 2013. Manager Tshepo Kgobe says the proposed expansion won't have this issue. #CarteBlanche
@skollie@TAKEALOT As someone who has had a close association with facial hair since birth, I can safely attest that the @BICGroup disposal Flex 5 razor is the best razor for the job.
Tow truck operators often arrive within minutes, sometimes before emergency services, and may pressure you into signing documents on the spot. Here are some tips on how to avoid falling prey to dodgy tow truck practices. #CarteBlanche

NEVER sign any document, WITHOUT READING fine print. Do not be pressured by Law Enforcement to use a Tow Operator. Call your Insurer YOURSELF. Record the conversation between you and Tow Operator if you are able. UTASA does not condone unscrupulous behaviour.
@carteblanchetv Consumers are welcome to contact UTASA for advice and support too. We have lodged far more than just the so-called 5 complaints the NCC speaks of. The NCC have NO TEETH.
Rugby is a game for all shapes and sizes. Depower the scrum anymore and you may as well watch a rugby league match.
It will destroy the community game if there is no place for your good old fashioned type of prop.
Keep meddling with the game and you will destroy it.
The @GPDRT_ paid almost R6bn to @Gautrain the last 2 years (around R22bn since 2013). @GPDRT_ 's annual budget is around R11bn of which R2bn automatically goes to Bombela Concession Company for patronage guarantee (insurance against low ridership). This 👇 from the Gautrain Management's Agency's 2025 annual report ...
".. the public entity, in terms of the Concession Agreement, pays the Concessionaire, a Patronage Guarantee should actual revenue collected be below the minimum required total revenue as specified in the concession agreement. During the 2024/25 financial year, the public entity paid the operator R3,051,626,000 (2023/24: R2,790,443,000) in the form of a Patronage Guarantee due to the actual revenue and ridership being significantly below the minimum required total revenue projections"
Haven't shopped @PicknPay for a few months but was enticed by the @Springboks cards promo. Shopped promo items & spent the requisite R500 & got 8 packs. Excitement quickly turned to disappointment! #notimpressed
Just attended the launch of the Walking Safely to School Project of @ChildsafeSA and @CityTshwane in Mamelodi. Such an important initiative that provides school children a safe road environment around their schools. Find out more here https://t.co/g9fEraUVEv
