"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. It's inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
-- Winston Churchill
The real problem isn’t socialism vs. conservatism. It’s whether a society this divided can still produce the collective will necessary to fix anything.
We don’t debate to find truth anymore. We defend teams. The News reinforces tribes, social media rewards outrage, politicians benefit from division, and millions of ordinary Americans have simply checked out. That leaves the loudest minorities on every side driving the conversation.
The Founders understood human nature. They built a system meant to restrain ambition, faction and abuse of power. What they couldn’t imagine was technology capable of spreading propaganda and outrage to millions in seconds, and an economy that profits from keeping us divided.
We don’t need another ideology or another revolution. We need to repair the system we already have.
Set measurable goals. Define the limits. Measure the results. Keep what works. End what doesn’t.
It’s time to stop asking which side should control government.
And start asking what rules government should have to obey regardless of who controls it.
@dwayne_fontenot While cost of living and homelessness is a federal issue, zero cooperation from state and city government doesn't help. Having millions of migrants soaking up entitlements, housing and wages, coupled with runaway government spending over 20 years is hardly solvable in two years.
@dwayne_fontenot@JesseBWatters NY Leadership:
- Mamdani is Mayor.
- Jeffries is Speaker/House Rep.
- Schumer is Senator.
- Hochul is Governor.
But somehow, all of NY's problems are Trump's fault.
Please don't vote...or procreate.
@ObtuseScholar@bottybot8088@RaySchrijvers@AzPetrich So misinformed. Mamdani's program is for 1 to 2 year "rent stabilized apartments" only. That's less than 25% of all housing units in NYC. At renewal, the landlord will apply the rent guideline increase that's in effect at that time.
