#PawanKalyan's interesting comments about Tamil Nadu CM #Vijay:
“In Tamil politics, They won so comfortably that it even makes me feel jealous.
He became Chief Minister with cutouts and holograms everywhere.
Even after travelling for 15 years, I did not get to see such a victory."

A well deserved victory @actorvijay To be silent during scathing attacks and let your work speak, is the biggest victory. During one of the interactions with the press I had in jest told ‘TVK - Stands for Try Vijay As King’ and today you’ve stood tall like a King. May you fullfil all the promises made to the people of Tamil Nadu, and may there be progress always.
My congratulations to Thiru Vijay and TVK on this impressive mandate in Tamil Nadu.
This mandate reflects the growing power of youth and their decisive role in shaping the politics of our country.
I wish him the very best in his public journey ahead.

Wat an astounding phenomenal debut for #vijay in his first election. Kudos to u Thalapathy. Congratulations to the man of the moment. A repeat of #MGRayya all over #Tamilnadu. When people need a change nobody can stop it. This is what we call a complete outrage of the current scenario in politics. Wishing u from the bottom of my heart and looking forward to development in the state and also in our bleeding film industry.
God bless

Terribly tragic news coming in from Bengaluru
Popular businessman CJ Roy, founder of Confident Group, has reportedly died by suicide
Sources say he allegedly shot himself after Income Tax raids were launched at his office. Officials were present at the premises at the time, and preliminary inputs suggest the incident happened during the course of the search operation
An investigation is now underway. More details awaited. His Bengaluru offices have been sealed
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is the Petitioner in WPC 1157 of 2025 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court which challenges the SIR process in Tamil Nadu as announced vide ECI’s notification on 27.10.2025.
An application (IA No. 313077 in WPC 1157 of 2025) had been filed by the TVK regarding the suicides and deaths of BLOs as well as against the threat of administrative and criminal action by BLOs. The application was aimed at preventing further deaths and harassment of BLOs by the ECI and to ensure compensation for those BLOs who had lost their lives by committing suicide due to work pressure or as a result health complications worsened by the pressure of the SIR process.
Today, when the SIR matter was heard by the Supreme Court, Mr. Gopal Sankarnarayanan, Sr. Adv. and Advocates Dixita Gohil, Pranjal Agarwal and Ysah S Vijay AOR informed the Hon’ble Court that the application seeks the following prayers:
1. Direct the Election Commission of India (ECI) to pay ex gratia interim compensation to all Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) who have died by suicide or due to health complications after the Impugned Notification dated 27.10.2025 and to devise a scheme for compensation and rehabilitation of their dependents who have lost their loved ones.
2. Direct the ECI to extend the SIR enumeration period deadline from 11.12.2025 to March 2026.
3. Additionally, direct the ECI to not take criminal action under Section 32 of the Representation of Peoples Act, in order to stop harassment and threat of imprisonment against BLOs.
The Hon’ble Court was informed of the suicides that have been committed by BLOs (including by Jahida Begum, a BLO in Kallakurichi Tamil Nadu on 22.11.2025) and in other states (including in Fatehpur, UP where Lekhpal Sudhir Kumar Kuril, aged 27, died by suicide a day before his wedding after allegedly being threatened with dismissal). The Court was also informed about the FIRs that have already been filed against BLOs in certain states.
Taking cognizance of the application, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has issued directions in order to prevent the harassment of BLOs due to work pressure. Further, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has stated that the issue regarding compensation will be considered by the Hon’ble Supreme Court upon applications being filed by individuals or the Petitioner TVK.
The Court made the following directions (as dictated in court) in the application filed by the TVK:
"This application has been moved by the Petitioner – Tamilaga Vettri Kazagham inter alia seeking the following directions. In sum and substance the allegations are that that various employees like aanganwadi workers have been deployed to perform the duties of BLOs from overlooking the extreme difficulties experienced by them. Though the application gives certain illustrative instances from different states, it seems that the Applicant is espousing the cause of such employees who on account of health reasons, family circumstances, other peculiar individual circumstances, are unable to perform the duties assigned by the Election Commission of India. It is also highlighted that where employees are reluctant to perform their duties, the ECI is contemplating to initiate criminal action against them.
We have heard the counsel for the Applicant and the counsel for the ECI.
There can be indeed no quarrel that the employees deputed by the State Government/SEC at the disposal of ECI for the purpose of performance of statutory duty including SIR, are obligated to perform such duties.
In case they are facing hardships including they being overburdened by their own duties and the responsibilities assigned by the ECI, the state govt can obviate such hardship for which we deem it appropriate to issue the following directions:
1. The State Government may consider the desirability putting additional staff at the disposal of the ECI so that the working hours can be proportionately reduced.
2. Wherever any employee has any specific reason for seeking exemption from the ECI, the competent authority/State Government may consider such request on a case to case basis and replace such person with another employee. However, it shall not be construed that as if by withdrawing certain employees, some other substitute shall not be provided. In other words, the State shall be obligated to deploy the requisite workforce at the disposal of the ECI though the strength can be increased as observed above.
On the other prayers for ex gratia payment of compensation to BLOs who have passed away due to suicide and due to health complications, the Court noted that any other relief which has not been dealt with, the aggrieved person or the Petitioner shall be at liberty to file an appropriate application.
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam welcomes the order of the Supreme Court and hopes that it would ensure a rationalization of the workload of the BLOs in Tamil Nadu and across the country. The order should lead to serious introspection by the ECI, the State Election Commission and the States to ensure that no more deaths occur and adequate resources/employees can be provided immediately so that BLOs who are teachers and aanganwadi workers are not harassed due to work pressure and due to threat of criminal action. The TVK stands in solidarity with the family of Jahida Begum who lost her life on 22 November 2025, and also the families of the deceased BLOs from across India. The TVK will continue to fight for the people affected by the SIR process including voters and BLOs.
