Our #Year7 pupils have been having fun in science with their Forensics topic. Using microscopes for fibre analysis, flame testing metals and learning all about Luminol! #science
Last lesson with my Y8 combined science group today. Next year they spilt into Biology, Chemistry and Physics. So I did 3x10 min demos from each discipline, heavy on the links between them.
Absolutely loved it; possibly the best half hour of my year!
Here are some highlights:
A sneak peak of our socially distanced version of our usual Christmas Tableaux. It’s been nice to do something ‘normalish’ for the Y13 who are doing a great job getting themselves into position and hair and makeup!
100 year strong tradition continues @LboroHigh@LboroSchFdt!!!
We need to know which schools have used Journal Club so far with any of their students. If you could spare just a couple of minutes to fill out this short survey (teachers or students), then we can keep the project running for as long as possible https://t.co/Eb8xVEnRsU
Some exciting news from two of our #Year9 pupils this week. Catherine and Magda are working on the #ESA Moon Camp: Explorers project - they have to design a moon camp, considering all challenges people living on the moon would face! We look forward to seeing how they do. #STEM
Now that week 1 has come to a close here are some images of the fantastic #astro work our Year 9 students have been producing! A very successful week in #remotelearning
The messiest game of Tetris ever?
No, our Photo of the Week is just an LHCb simulation. The LHCb detector is, in reality, a row of subdetectors stretched along the beamline, which makes LHCb simulations look quite peculiar.

For those of you who want to a bit of star gazing tonight you can catch the Lyrid meteor shower! It is recommended that you catch it after midnight so it might be a late/early one.
For any keen star gazers out there, the Lyrids meteor shower will be peaking tomorrow night! Here is a handy link to all the meteor showers to look forward to this year, and some handy tips on photographing them. #space#stargazing https://t.co/H8zxcB6hob
