We are deeply saddened by the line-of-duty death of Constable Mohamed Lamine Benredouane of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal.
He courageously lost his life protecting his community. This is a heartbreaking and powerful reminder that, perhaps now more than ever, police officers continue to face real danger in service to others, and that their families, colleagues, and communities carry the weight of that sacrifice.
Our thoughts are with Constable Benredouane’s family, loved ones, and all members of the @SPVM. We are also thinking of his injured colleague who remains in hospital, the uninvolved citizen who tragically lost their life, and everyone impacted by this devastating incident.
On behalf of the London Police Service, we extend our deepest condolences to the @SPVM and the Montréal community. We stand with you, and with all of our policing partners, in grief, respect, and solidarity.
