Credible info confirms she is NOT listed on Interpol—just like her husband Ahmed Mousa, who was forcibly deported to Egypt under the same false claim.

Mariam’s lawyer, @BenCAKeith, stated: “It is of real concern that the authorities are refusing to cooperate. There is no basis for any INTERPOL alert, we believe that the statements by the Omani authorities in this regard are false. There is no INTERPOL alert of any type. There is therefore no legal basis to hold or deport her. In this case it seems that Oman are cooperating with Egypt to circumvent extradition protections and arbitrarily detain my client. She faces unfair trial, torture and mistreatment if deported or extradited. So far no due process has been followed”

Instead of celebrating the birth of her newborn, Mariam Abdelbasette—an Egyptian activist and mother of three—is now facing the threat of forced deportation just days after giving birth.

🛑 Mariam’s activities have been entirely peaceful, limited to expressing her views online through discussions, engagement, and helping manage opposition social media platforms advocating for political change through non-violent means—including supporting an online referendum calling for the removal of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

🛑 Despite the peaceful nature of this activity, these platforms have been repeatedly blocked and shut down, while those associated with them have been targeted—some prosecuted in absentia and placed on terrorism lists—in a clear pattern of transnational repression.

🛑 Law and Democracy Support Foundation renews its call on the Omani authorities to halt any measures that could lead to the deportation of Mariam Abdelbaset and her children, and to ensure their full protection in line with Oman’s international human rights obligations.

بدل فرحة استقبال مولود جديد... تواجه مريم عبد الباسط، ناشطة مصرية وأم لثلاثة أطفال، خطر الترحيل القسري بعد أيام فقط من الولادة.

🛑 اقتصر نشاط مريم على التعبير السلمي عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، من خلال التعليق والمشاركة وإدارة صفحات رقمية معارضة، دعت إلى التغيير السياسي بوسائل سلمية، بما في ذلك دعم استفتاء إلكتروني طالب بعزل الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي.

🛑 ورغم الطابع السلمي لهذا النشاط، تعرّضت هذه الصفحات للحجب والإغلاق المتكرر، مع ملاحقة المرتبطين بها وإدراج بعضهم في قضايا غيابية وعلى قوائم الإرهاب، في إطار ممارسات القمع العابر للحدود.

🛑 كما تعرّضت مريم لتهديدات منظمة عبر مجموعة مغلقة على تطبيق تيليجرام، تضمنت نشر بيانات وصور شخصية لمعارضين في الخارج، إلى جانب تهديدات مباشرة ومحتوى تشهيري، في نمط واضح من الاستهداف والتتبع المنهجي، بما يزيد من المخاوف على سلامتها وسلامة أسرتها.

🛑 وكانت مريم، عبر محاميها المختص بالقانون الدولي بن كيث، قد تقدمت بشكوى إلى لجنة الرقابة على ملفات الإنتربول (CCF) بتاريخ 5 مايو 2026، في محاولة لوقف إساءة استخدام آليات الإنتربول في هذه القضية. ويؤكد محاميها أن احتجازها دون أساس قانوني، والاستناد إلى إدراج غير مُعلن على قوائم الإنتربول، يشكل انتهاكًا واضحًا للقانون الدولي ويضعها أمام خطر ترحيل تعسفي ووشيك.

🛑 تجدد مؤسسة دعم القانون والديمقراطية مطالبها للسلطات العُمانية بوقف أي إجراءات قد تؤدي إلى ترحيل مريم عبد الباسط وأطفالها، وضمان حمايتهم الكاملة، بما يتسق مع التزامات سلطنة عُمان الدولية في مجال حقوق الإنسان.

🚨 عاجل | #سلطنة_عمان تحتجز ناشطة مصرية بعد ساعات من الولادة ومخاوف من إعادتها قسراً إلى #مصر
تعرب مؤسسة دعم القانون والديمقراطية عن بالغ قلقها إزاء الاحتجاز التعسفي للناشطة المصرية #مريم_عبد_الباسط (31 عاماً)، وهي أم لثلاثة أطفال (منهم طفلان قاصران ومولود جديد).
جرى احتجاز مريم وتقييد حريتها داخل مستشفى المدينة الطبية للأجهزة العسكرية في عُمان بعد ساعات من وضع مولودها، وتسجيلها بصفة "سجينة" دون أي سند قانوني معلن!

🛑 تسلسل وقائع القمع العابر للحدود:
1️⃣ اعتقال الزوج واختفاؤه: في 26 مارس 2026، اعتقلت السلطات العُمانية زوجها أحمد موسى، وتم ترحيله قسراً إلى القاهرة في 9 أبريل بناءً على "طلب شفهي" عبر الإنتربول دون أي وثيقة رسمية، وهو مختفٍ قسرياً منذ وصوله.
2️⃣ منع من السفر واستجواب تعسفي: في 15 أبريل، مُنعت مريم (وكانت في شهرها الثامن من الحمل) من مغادرة مطار مسقط، وأُبلغت شفهياً بوجود حظر سفر ضدها، وخضعت لاستجوابين دون حضور محامٍ مع تهديدها بالترحيل.
3️⃣ اتهامات أمنية فضفاضة: أُدرجت مريم كمتهمة في قضية أمن الدولة رقم 1871 لسنة 2026 باتهامات جائرة مثل "قيادة تنظيم إرهابي" و"التحريض على العصيان المدني"، دون تحديد أي فعل فردي منسوب إليها، وبسبب نشاطها السلمي عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي.
⚠️ تهديدات موثقة وخطيرة على حياتها:
وثّقت المؤسسة واحتفظت بنسخ مصورة من تهديدات صريحة بالاستهداف الجسدي، وتشهير ذي طابع جندري، تعرضت له مريم عبر مجموعة مغلقة على تطبيق "تليجرام" مخصصة لملاحقة المعارضين المصريين بالخارج، مما يفرز مخاوف حقيقية على سلامتها وسلامة أطفالها.
🚨 مطالب عاجلة إلى السلطات العُمانية:
▪️ الإفراج الفوري وغير المشروط عن مريم عبد الباسط ورضيعها.
▪️ وقف أي إجراءات ترحيل غير رسمية قد تعرضها لخطر الإعادة القسرية إلى مصر.
▪️ السماح لها بحرية التنقل والسفر دون قيود، والإفصاح عن السند القانوني لاحتجازها.
▪️ فتح تحقيق مستقل في ظروف احتجازها، وفي واقعة الاختفاء القسري لزوجها.

📣 نطالب المجتمع الدولي، ومنظمة الإنتربول ولجنة (CCF)، وآليات الأمم المتحدة (خاصة المقرريّن الخواص بالاعتقال التعسفي والاختفاء القسري) بالتدخل العاجل لتعليق النشرات المسيسة وحماية مريم وأطفالها.

Law and Democracy Support Foundation condemns the sweeping security campaign carried out in Egypt over the past few days, targeting activists, lawyers, and defenders of freedom of expression.

In the early hours of Monday, 25 May, security forces arrested members of the "Committee for the Defence of Prisoners of Conscience" from their homes: Mohamed Abou Al-Diyar (Lawyer), Wafaa Al-Masry (Court of Cassation Lawyer) and Dr. Hanan Al-Tantawi (Political Activist)

These arrests came as retaliation days after the Committee organized the “Prison Is Not Their Place” photo exhibition, and hours after condemning the arrest of political activist Nael Hassan.

The authorities' insistence on security-driven approaches proves that repression is a ruling policy, not an exception. We demand an immediate end to this systematic targeting and the release of all prisoners of conscience.

تدين مؤسسة دعم القانون والديمقراطية الحملة الأمنية المسعورة التي شهدتها مصر خلال الأيام الماضية، والتي استهدفت عددًا من النشطاء والمحامين والمدافعين عن حرية التعبير.
وقد اعتقلت أجهزة الأمن فجر اليوم الإثنين ٢٥ مايو، أعضاء "لجنة الدفاع عن سجناء الرأي" من منازلهم: المحامي محمد أبو الديار، المحامية بالنقض وفاء المصري، الناشطة السياسية حنان الطنطاوي. وجاء هذا الاعتقال كعقاب فور تنظيم اللجنة معرض صور “السجن مش مكانهم”، وعقب ساعات من إدانتهم لاعتقال الناشط السياسي نائل حسن وحبسه احتياطيًا. إن إصرار السلطات المصرية على استخدام الحلول الأمنية يكرّس واقعاً بات فيه القمع سياسة حاكمة لا استثناءً. وتجدد المؤسسة مطالبتها بوقف هذا الاستهداف الممنهج، وإطلاق سراح كافة سجناء الرأي والضمير، وإسقاط التهم الملفقة بحقهم.
