Extremists say they are motivated by the health and well-being of the women and children of America. In reality, they ignore the crisis of maternal mortality.
I love listening to our local public radio and its local programs. Today is extra special listening to Charity Nebbe interview @EdwardECurtisIV about his book Muslims of the Heartland. If you're interested in an overlooked part of our history, check out this book! #talkofiowa
Roy Wood, Jr (@roywoodjr): "All the essential, fair and nuanced reporting, it's all stuck behind a pay wall...say what you want about a conspiracy theory but at least it's affordable."

Hey remember when "CRT" was coming for your kids, your family, your way of life? No one talks about it anymore. Why?
Now it's 'transgenderism'.
Here's the thing CRT and Trans people both have in common:
1. neither is coming for you or your kids or whatever

Wish the men's championship game was on at a reasonable time. Having the women's game in the afternoon allowed parents to watch the game with their kids. Good way to grow the game. Can't even imagine trying to stay up to watch the men on the east coast.
I don't understand CBS. On CBS Sunday Morning they featured an important piece on Sen. Fetterman and mental health. And yet tonight feature a person who believes in conspiracy theories that threaten our government. Yes, normalize care of mental health, but don't normalize lies!
In Iowa we:
Trust parents, until we don’t
Value education, until we don’t
Listen to experts, until we don’t
Prize liberty, until we don’t
Recognize diversity, until we don’t
Strive for smaller government, until we don’t
Don’t give into fear, until we do
1st half of #ialegis is done & it's been tough for so many. Too much division/politics instead of ideas to help Iowans. Time to work together + make 2nd half of session about PEOPLE
#PeopleOverPolitics#ialegis
In Iowa, it seems parental rights are only for parents who believe like the governor. The legislature has made that abundantly clear. Theocracy here we come.
If the number of unsheltered students alone in Des Moines was its own school district it would outnumber 200 of the state’s 327 school districts. #publicschools
"Remember, it didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with politicians dividing the people with ‘us vs. them.’ It started with intolerance and hate speech, and when people stopped caring, became desensitized, and turned a blind eye, it became a slippery slope to genocide".
Reminder:
You can decide not to read a book.
You can decide your child will not read a book.
But you can't ban that book for an entire classroom, school, or state.
