I could teach endless workshops on trading, strategies, technicals, etc., but 95% will still not make money because of their lack of appreciation for process, money management and trading psychology.
@FuturesTrader71 Thank you Sifu FT. I found futures through you 2 yrs ago and I have never looked back. Your teachings on statistical edge, trading competency and psychology will be with me forever. Grateful for all the TBs and most importantly your time! 🤝
I was a big NQ pit trader-I could move the market. In 03 I got divorced. I took a few months off to get my mind right. I came back & was trading bigger then ever. For a time I was 10% of the NQ volume. Traders who fed off my downticks were making more $ then me. Not a time I am proud of. EMO was a great trader who would try to bring me to my senses. I continued to basically trade with myself. He had all kinds of strange sayings, he adopted a new one. He would yell “don’t eat curry in a hurry”! I thought he was talking about lunch. After a couple months of me trading like an asshole, I went to my office to trade small on the screens than I started a Prop Trading Group. For some reason that saying stayed with me-“don’t eat curry in a hurry”. I didn’t realize what he meant till after I left the pit. He meant to slow down. Take your time. Don’t take every wiggle, every price change, every move. When you trade your strategy you take the trades your strategy gives you not your opinion. Younger traders seem to be in a bigger hurry then older traders. Give the market your time, not your money. Work to out it all together. Work to be the best version of yourself in mind, body, spirit so you will enable yourself to be a long term profitable trader.
On the trading floor our first 10 years we were still looked at as rookies. The veteran traders looked at us like ’you haven’t proven anything yet.’
Take your time people. Real success in this business takes time and even when you think you figured it out, you haven’t.
