"Walk Before You Run" is one of my favorite songs among many favorite songs on the new album, Mac Sinise Resurrection & Revival: Part 3.
The message is simple, but powerful: when life feels overwhelming and nothing seems to be going your way, sometimes the answer isn't to move faster, it's to focus on the step right in front of you.
The song began with lyrics Mac wrote during his college years, and a chord pattern he laid down on his guitar. I found it all and asked Dan Myers to help shape those ideas into the beautiful song you hear today. I'm so grateful to Dan and the talented musicians of Stolen Silver for helping bring Mac's words and music to life.
As a proud father, it means so much to see these songs and orchestral compositions finally make their way from Mac's notebooks and recordings into the studio and out into the world. I know he'd be smiling to know people are listening and connecting with his music.
I know you will enjoy "Walk Before You Run."

We had such a great time recording Resurrection & Revival: Part 3 that I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes fun from the studio.
At one point, everyone decided to show up dressed as Lt. Dan. Imagine my surprise when everyone showed up in bandanas, Hawaiian shirts, and some very impressive wigs. Needless to say, there were a lot of laughs that day.
This project has been incredibly special to me. As Mac's dad, it's been an honor to help bring his music to life and share it with all of you. I'm grateful to everyone who poured their hearts into this album and helped celebrate Mac's creativity, talent, and spirit.
Hope you enjoy this glimpse behind the scenes.

In 2025, I found a chart Mac had written in college with his pal in the USC Pop Music program, Brett Fromson. It’s called Blue Blood and Ivory. Turned out Oliver Schnee knew Brett from college and put me in touch. I asked Brett if he’d like to shape it up and record the song. Brett was totally game and on September 1st 2025, we were recording at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles. The same studio where everything began for Mac, recording Arctic Circles on July 17, 2023.
Oliver produced, Brett sings lead, and we pulled together Mac’s pals Jake Hays, Alex Morgan and Brandon Woodward to help out. Also, vocalist Lou Roy. She sings three songs on Resurrection and Revival: Part Two, and it was so nice to have her come by to lend her incredible talent to Part Three.
In addition to all these great folks, I invited Mac’s drum mentor and pal Gregg Bisonette to come play drums on this rockin’ tune. Gregg is always on the road playing somewhere in the world and we were fortunate that the night before the session he arrived back home from a tour and could do it. Gregg playing on the record was so special. I know he did it for Mac and has told me many times that Mac was one of his favorite people. Mac loved Gregg and I know he’s tickled pink that Gregg and all his pals play on Blue Blood and Ivory. We added a few nice drum fills so Gregg could cut loose for Mac.
Enjoy this rockin’ tune from Mac Sinise Resurrection and Revival: Part Three.

On May 7, 2026, it was an honor to welcome U.S. Army Captain (Ret.) Leslie Nicole Smith to her brand new specially adapted smart home built by the Gary Sinise Foundation.
I have known Leslie for over 20 years and watched her face incredible challenges during, and since her military service, including the loss of her leg due to a blood infection contracted while serving in Bosnia 2001-2002, and also much of her eyesight. She is legally blind. Yet she continues to live with remarkable strength, positivity, and a deep commitment to helping other veterans and their families.
She is an inspiration to so many of us, and I’m grateful we could provide a home that will support her for years to come. Welcome home, Leslie.
Honored to be hosting the 37th annual National Memorial Day Concert with my good friend @JoeMantegna. Be sure to turn in on Sunday, May 24, at 8/7c on PBS as we honor the sacrifice of our service men and women and their families.
Such a great trip bringing the Lt. Dan Band to England for back to back concerts for the troops at Lakenheath & Fairford Air Force Bases. And while here, I got to visit the town of Kimbolton where my Uncle Jack was stationed in WWII flying 30 missions as a navigator on a B-17 bomber with the 379th Group.
To think my Uncle Jack was walking on these hallowed grounds during the heat of the battle, all those years ago, and to see it all firsthand is a true blessing.
My good pal, Tim Gray is doing a documentary on my uncles Jack and Jerry who served in WWII and I’ll be sure to share more about that when the time comes. More soon. 🙏🏼🇺🇸
If you have not seen, highly recommend The Chosen Season 5. In episode 8, my pal Jonathan Roumie gives one of the great performances of the year. Well done Jonathan, pal Dallas Jenkins, and all who work on this powerful series.
Hey folks, today I’d like to take a moment to share something deeply personal with you.
Over the past few years, my family has walked through a season of profound love and loss. My son Mac was a remarkable young man, full of talent, heart, and purpose. An incredible musician and composer, in 2018 Mac was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer and our family entered a journey that none of us could have prepared for.
A little over two years ago I went to work writing my second book, sharing his story, as well as challenges and blessings our family experienced along the way, the love that held us together, the faith that sustained us, the grief that changed us, and how we continue to move forward daily with a strength we didn’t know we had.
And now Thomas Nelson and @People Magazine begin the next part of this journey.
This book is for Mac. It’s also for anyone who has faced loss, uncertainty, or hardship, and is searching for a line of hope in the middle of it. Something I feel I needed to do to help with my own healing.
I’m thankful to People for sharing the launch of our presale today. Graceful Warrior: The True Story of a Son, a Father, and a Family Who Carried Each Other Through is now available for preorder and will officially be released on Mac’s birthday, Nov 10th.
Thank you for your consideration.

Great to team up with @VeteransUnited to celebrate and Welcome Home our Vietnam veterans. It’s always an honor to spend time with our incredible Vietnam Veterans, but especially on National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
One of the early and great songs I discovered of Mac’s was “Angel's Theme.”
When I first heard this lovely melody, I got very emotional.
It was stored in his files from his early college days. Mac was just beginning to write on piano and for other instruments and came up with the beautiful melody featuring violin and piano. Not only did I find the recording he made, but I also found his original chart and arrangement.
I loved it so much that I brought it to my LT Dan Band music director Ben Lewis and we’ve added it to our set list. Mac’s salute to the troops.
In September of 2025, we filmed the song at our Nashville Salutes Heroes event at the Nashville Speedway. This is a special song, one of the first that Mac wrote. As we are gearing up for the release of his third album (thank you to all who have ordered in our presale), please take a look at this new video from Resurrection & Revival Part 2.

Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone. I turned 71 today, and approaching this birthday I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on the past year. One constant has been my late son Mac’s music, which has continued to inspire me.
While going through his recordings, I discovered many more songs, melodies, lyrics, musical ideas - enough to create Resurrection & Revival: Part Three, a new three-disc album, finished with the help of his friends.
I miss Mac more than I could ever express. But finding more of his music has been a true gift, and it’s meant a lot to bring these songs into the world.
As with the first two albums, Part Three will be available on our website, with proceeds going to benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation - just as Mac wanted.
Presale orders are now open.

One of those heroes is U.S. Army Sergeant Mary Dague, who received her new mortgage-free home last week.
This is our 101st home.
Mary’s courage, resilience, and spirit are truly inspiring, and it was an honor to celebrate her and welcome her home.
