But Trump knows he is protected by the Senate filibuster, the decimation of congressional committees since Gingrich, the effective inability of congressional committees to compell administration witnesses, Trump’s implicit promise to pardon lawbreakers and perjurers, the incompetence of the national media, the demonstrated weakness of impeachment and various other factors that have changed since 1974.

Zampolli had a modeling business that clearly served as a front for sex trafficking young women and girls to wealthy clients, of which Jeffrey Epstein was in fact a partner.

Most people would have hidden. Would have grieved quietly and prayed for a miracle. Lucie Aubrac did something else entirely. She was memorizing guard positions. Counting minutes. Mapping the route the prison truck would take.
On October 21, 1943, that truck rolled through the streets of Lyon carrying Raymond and other prisoners toward what should have been the end.
