The whole crowd was told to stay back. The officer shot into the crowd of people and she was shot. She wasn't shot because she was posing a greater threat than anyone else, she was just the one who happened to be hit. It could have been anyone.

@jmfitzie @atrupar I graduated from high school in 1982. Not only were guns commonly in gun racks in the student parking lot, the school offered a class where we shot actual shotguns. And yes, AR 15s were available for at least a decade before that. Our society has definitely changed.
