There are two places we lead:
Life roles and organizational roles.
One comes with a title.
The other comes with relationships.
Parent. Friend. Spouse. Mentor. Neighbor.
And often the leadership that impacts people most happens outside of an organization.

💭When life’s events challenge our ability to lead like Jesus, times of solitude and dialogue with God become increasingly important. Above the wind and storm, we are able to reflect on the unchanging realities of life and gain an eternal spiritual perspective on events and people, including our own role and responsibilities. The Spirit wants to use these times to renew our strength, realign our perspective, and refresh our hearts. Will you let Him do this for you?
📖Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.—Psalm 8:1
🙏Prayer: O Spirit of the living God, breathe life and hope and strength into me as I draw apart to spend time with You. Reveal Your majesty! Renew, refresh, and realign my perspective; let me see life as You see it. May I reflect You wherever You send me today. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
💭It can be easy to look around at others instead of looking at ourselves as leaders. Yet, truthfully, we are only able to make decisions to direct our own behavior. When was the last time you took time to examine the condition of your heart and head? How are you doing at putting into practice what you know about servant leadership? How is your practice of Jesus’ habits increasing your spiritual leadership vitality?
📖“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”—Luke 6:41
🙏Prayer: Lord, I confess that when I don’t take time to examine my own life, I begin examining the lives of others instead. Today, search my heart, open my eyes to what you see, and give me insight into what I personally need to be changing in order to lead like Jesus. I ask in His name, Amen.
💭What defines your life? What shapes your thinking? How is a growing awareness of God’s greatness and majesty changing you? Praising God for who He is, remembering what He has done, thanking Him for His promises and great work on your behalf, and surrendering to your Creator and King will revolutionize your life.
📖I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.—Psalm 34:1-3
🙏Prayer: Lord, You are worthy of praise! Your power, Your truth, and Your grace are transforming my life. I worship You. I find my deepest satisfaction in knowing You and making You known to others. I bow before You, lifting up my hands and heart to You. May I become known as a person who praises and glorifies You, I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Who has had the greatest influence on your life?
What did they do differently?
How did they lead?
What impact did they leave behind?
Sometimes the greatest lessons in leadership come from people who never called themselves leaders.

💭What are you passionate about? Passion is important in life. Passion for the things of God motivates and inspires. Jesus was known for His passion, His zeal, for God’s reputation and God’s people. Yet passion alone can mislead, and unchecked, can tempt us to choose based on what feels good in the moment. Passion inspired by God will be grounded in and guided by God’s Word and God’s Spirit. Is your God-given passion flagging? Fan it into flame through prayer.
📖Desire without knowledge is not good— how much more will hasty feet miss the way!— Proverbs 19:2
🙏Prayer: God, my passion for You can ebb and flow like the tide, deleted by the demands of life and servanthood, or fanned by success. Don’t let me put my trust in passion, but in You. Fan my passion and strengthen me to walk in Your way through Your Word, Your Spirit, and prayer. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
Some of the most important leadership moments never happen in a boardroom.
They happen around dinner tables.
In conversations with friends.
In encouragement given to a child.
In caring for someone who is hurting.
Leadership begins long before a title ever does.

💭What characteristics come to mind when you think of a servant? Do you think of courage? When Jesus faced Pilate, He displayed great presence of mind and steadfast courage, as did Stephen when facing the religious leaders, along with many faithful witnesses throughout the centuries. Christ-like courage springs from confidence that we have been called by God and are empowered by His Spirit. Where is He calling you to serve with confidence and courage?
📖So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”—Hebrews 13:6
🙏Prayer: Lord, You are my helper. What an amazing thought! You come to my aid, infusing me with confidence and courage to serve Your purposes in every circumstance. When fear rears it head, when my faith falters, encourage my heart and strengthen me to serve You courageously. I ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫?
Most people hear the word leader and think of a title, position, or platform.
But if you influence someone’s thinking, behavior, or growth… you are already leading.
Every conversation.
Every decision.
Every interaction.
You may be leading more people than you realize.

Communicating with others is a vital part of life regardless of your natural tendencies. Many tools help guide the process of understanding ourselves more; one of them is DISC. The DISC model of human behavior uses four categories to illustrate patterns: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness.
Lead Like Jesus now offers Biblical DISC, which incorporates biblical analysis to help you uncover your behavioral style while showing how Jesus modeled each trait perfectly.
The Biblical DISC Assessment matches your behavioral style to the style of biblical characters to show how they interacted with one another and how Jesus interacted and communicated with each one perfectly.
How can you use it? It helps you leverage your God-given strengths and improve your natural weaknesses. It also provides insight into how others ‘tick’ so you can better lead and minister to them.

This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to others. Their sacrifice is a reminder that the greatest leadership is marked by courage, humility, and selfless love.
Today, we remember with gratitude. 🇺🇸
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13
There’s a difference between being “here” and being “present.”
Growing up, teachers would call attendance and we’d answer:
“Here.”
or
“Present.”
Most people think those words mean the same thing.
But they don’t.
“Here” means you showed up.
“Present” means you’re engaged, attentive, fully there.
And honestly, so many of us are “here” without being present.
We’ve all experienced it:
The conversation interrupted by a phone.
The family dinner overshadowed by work.
The worship moment filled with distraction.
Isaiah 29:13 says:
“These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.”
God has never been after performance.
He’s after presence.
From the Garden until now, His desire has always been relationship.
Not noise.
Not appearances.
Not perfection.
Presence.
And the people you lead need the same.
People don’t just need your direction —
they need your presence.
And presence is love in action.

💭When Jesus went to pray at Gethsemane, He knew the struggle that was ahead of Him. He needed time with His Father, and He needed the spiritual companionship of His closest disciples. Where do you turn when pressure builds?
📖They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.”—Mark 14:32-34
🙏Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me how to live in every season of life, including times of great pressure. Your example reminds me that when struggle comes, I can turn to the Father for help. Remind me to share my burdens with others, and help me point them to the Father in times of stress. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Leadership isn’t one-dimensional.
It’s alignment.
Heart — who you are
Head — what you believe
Hands — what you do
Habits — how you live it out daily
When these are aligned, leadership becomes consistent, authentic, and impactful.

💭Where has God placed you? Like Naaman’s servant girl in 2 Kings 5, you may find yourself taken captive by circumstances not of your making. Wherever you are, God is able to use you in the lives of others, just as He did this young woman. Through her influence, Naaman received physical healing and confessed the Lord as God. How does the Lord want to use you today?
📖Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.—1 Chronicles 16:11
🙏Prayer: Lord, these are good words, good advice. Regardless of where I find myself today, it is always the right time to look to You and Your strength. As I seek Your face, show me the opportunities I have to point people to You. May others come to know You as I praise and serve where You place me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
💭Who or what influences your life’s agenda? Jesus’ life reflected the Father’s influence, an influence strengthened and sustained through solitude, Scripture and prayer. He resisted the influence of those who did not understand His call from God. How much opportunity to influence your life does the Father have? In the midst of changing circumstances and daily pressures, what are you doing to keep your focus on God and His purposes?
📖Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”—John 5:19
🙏Prayer: Lord Jesus, I long for these words to be true of my life, also. I know that this doesn’t happen by chance. Today, I turn my thoughts toward You, and I humbly come to hear what You have to say to me. In Your name, I ask, Amen.
💭Are you serving people around you, or are you using them to meet your own needs? It’s a question that those of us who aspire to lead like Jesus must face each and every day. Is it your intention to serve God, or yourself? To love God and others, or to love yourself? What motivates you?
📖“The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. … I am among you as one who serves.”—Luke 22:25-27
🙏Prayer: Jesus, today, I want to see others through Your eyes and reflect You in my interactions with them. Transform my heart, my mind, and my leadership methods. This day, may people know me as one who serves. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Real transformation doesn’t happen all at once.
At Lead Like Jesus, we’ve seen that lasting change moves through four levels:
Knowledge → Belief → Behavior → Culture
It begins with learning truth and understanding what needs to change. But knowledge alone isn’t enough.
As James 1:22 reminds us:
“Do not merely listen to the word… Do what it says.”
Transformation happens when truth moves from our minds to our hearts — and then into the way we live, lead, and serve others.
And when leaders consistently live out those changes, transformation spreads into families, workplaces, and communities.
That’s what it means to lead positive change.

We often try to fix leadership from the outside.
Better systems.
Better strategies.
Better results.
But Jesus starts somewhere else—
the heart.
Because who you are always shapes how you lead.
Change the heart…
and everything else begins to follow.
