Hi @Marriott! Wondering if you might need a refresher on the definition of "guaranteed" because my reservation does indeed guarantee a room with a roll-in shower and I got a "hearing accessible" room with a bathroom I barely fit in. Why does this keep happening? Fix your system.
Today’s my 10 year #disability anniversary of creating @RampYourVoice!!
What a journey to be on this ride. And to have established a name for myself that exceeded my dreams.
And still… I’m not even close to being done. Can’t wait to see what the next decade has for me.
Extremely disappointed to see multiple airlines and health insurance companies on this list of Best Places To Work for disability inclusion by @DisabilityIN. How do we expect change to happen when we reward these companies who actively harm our community? https://t.co/cCJ9m4Y4uO
" I want to highlight that ableism is much broader than a legal definition of discrimination against people with disabilities." - @labelleverite#ReclaimingDJ#CripTheLaw
Do not hesitate or wait to put grab bars, a tub cut out etc in your house when you grow old or if you have mobility issues.
Put grab bars in your bathroom before you fall in the shower, not because you already had a fall in the shower. https://t.co/D8qwIsNnJG

The student body responded in many ways 🧵
Austin police officers arrested a deaf, elderly woman at ABIA for trespassing, but she just misunderstood instructions from a ticket clerk. Because she’s elderly and deaf. She spent 3 nights in the Travis County Jail, where a jailer broke her arm. She wasn’t taken to the ER.
BREAKING NEWS: The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously in favor of Miguel Perez, the deaf student who was denied accommodations and language access in school. This is a landmark decision for students with disabilities & their families. #Disability#SCOTUS https://t.co/rXPN4bwZFH
We’re spring forward…to save our democracy!
Did you feel the loss of the hour last night? The effects usually take a day or two to wear off, but we’re committed around the clock to serving young people who are safeguarding our democracy.

Even as a college educated, Senate confirmed, philanthropist diplomat, Judy Heumann, like hundreds of thousands of other people with disabilities, lived in fear of not being able to afford the supports and services she needed to live in the community.

In a new piece @thenation, @RebeccaCokley writes about the "gargantuan gaps in our social insurance landscape" that have made “'work until you die' ... the retirement plan for so many disabled people" https://t.co/6DFThdFDKa
