@SmashJT Good God, how could a business have been managed so poorly? There has to be something deeper to that $300M marketing budget.

I've been developing a Leading Edge logo DOS screensaver using TurboC emulated in DOSBOX-X. Here you can see a test compile being run on a WinPro 486. I have been having some difficulty with the TSR freezing the system so I have to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Once bugs are squashed I'll make it available for download for free.

@exQUIZitely Mid to late 2000's. The last great era before digital slop and always online.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@DetroitDannyC @AnthonyXGod @RockstarGames Probably because what they do echos throughout the industry, creating a more exploitative environment for other customers, pushing further enshitification of everything else.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@R3TRO1993 @AnthonyXGod @RockstarGames The game isn't even included in this.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@SuperSisi Don't you mean "Rent"?

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@ShitpostRock I wanted to get one of those green xboxes, but they couldn't be bothered to offer cart protection or anything to combat bots.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@RetroMemoriesHQ Never had one, considered getting one a few years ago, but the available games are too expensive and just not very interesting.

A new old stock Leading Edge CMC-1418S 14" VGA monitor just taken out of the box.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@308Greenfield I think I have a handful that shut down like that, but most just flip the power switch off when at the dos prompt. Here are a couple of favorites.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@XBOX Why not just fulfill demand on something like this? 25K? And for a freaking preorder? Really? It's not like people are lining up to clean out your regular consoles.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

nice job managing the preorders @XBOX . Naturally, making it a free for all, only scalper bots were able to order.

[LeadingEdgeComputers @LeadingEdgePCs]

@XBOX Let me guess, everything got sold to bots to go up on ebay later.
