@DiscussingFilm People complain about UE5 performance and consumers are being price out of hardware that isn't entry-level?
Quick, jump to UE6! They want more developers calling them poor when a game that looks 10-15 years old struggles to reach 40fps without dlss!
@lotfgame EGS? No thanks. Games go there to die. Nobody uses it for anything but Fortnite and grabbing a bunch of free giveaway games they will never actually play.
@Crimsn_ Salvations Edge feels complicated for the sake of being complicated. Like, complication powercreep. Rhulk was an actual boss and actually fights back in unique way that also gives off a personality without using OHKO wipe mechanics disguised as attacks.
@Bungie_Leaks "Prismatic" sounds like mixing light abilities, but what would D3 even offer if it's pushed up to TFS? And if they can just push up a feature like that, it's fairly easy to do and probably in the same engine which begs the question as to "Why bother" with a D3.
@DSR_Joker D3 would be nice, but I'm fairly certain it won't happen until after Marathon. It does conspicuously seem like they are wrapping up D2 after FS with what is unanimously less content. Maybe we'll get news about D3 halfway through Marathon's life.
@DSR_Joker Traveler? Just like the Veil. It exists because it does, I guess. It was just sitting there in the dirt. It didn't show up to elevate them like so many others. Then they randomly found the Veil too and decided to put them together out of literal boredom.
...okay...
@DSR_Joker The Witness is sorta interesting in concept but completely fails in almost all execution.
The true reveal is also literally everything wrong with Destiny lore condensed into a cutscene. Solve 1 question maybe not many people were even interested in, create many more.
@DSR_Joker I cant be bothered to listen to it, but from what I'm hearing it sounds incredibly embarrassing and the judge just really hates being exposed to it.
@DSR_Joker I mean, didn't Marathon start development the same year Forsaken came out? Pretty convenient that was the time we got the current seasonal "content treadmill" model too.
@DSR_Joker The state of Vanilla D2 sort of exposed they wanted to pull the franchise in a different direction only for it to fail. Forsaken probably was the last inspired content before the franchise became "minimum viable product" and soft-replacing the Devteam in favour of Marathon.
@DSR_Joker Not optimistic about future Bungie games in general. So many red flags and contradictions and disrespect even.
I don't think Bungie is even the Bungie from 5 years ago anymore.
@evanf1997_ But Marathon? Don't care in the slightest. D2 is too far down the road to really fix and story/writing I can only describe as "manifest aneurysm". I don't know if I would even want to see a D3 from current Bungie. They seem very... disconnected.
Somber disappointment I guess.
@evanf1997_ I don't know how to feel about Bungie as a whole now. It's not that they were fumbling things. They secretly told the players they didn't care as they monetized the game more and more over the years, using all their gains to fund Marathon, and shifting all the Talent over.
