This day last year was filled with joy and hope for the future. We were celebrating Remy’s birthday a couple days early because Harvey was finally going in to have his surgery for his scoliosis. We were so looking forward to the next chapter for him and for us as a family.
He never should have had to wait like he did. He never should have had to spend a third of his life waiting for ‘urgent’ surgery. No child should ever be left in pain to deteriorate and expected to just accept it. These children’s biggest concern should be making Santa’s nice list, not their status on a surgery list.
