If Harris loses, the progress that LGBT people have made in recent years will vanish. The rights of POC and immigrants will be attacked even more viciously and eroded further. And what remains of women’s ability to have control of their bodies will be wiped out. Think about that.
Some people say they can’t vote for Harris out of “principle.” Well, if you don’t vote, it will be a vote for Tr*mp - a person whose policies are worse than those of any Democratic president. If that’s the outcome of your “principles,” then your principles don’t make much sense.
Version two, to directly address anyone who claims you have “Covid anxiety.” (If anyone could help me out with alt text I’d appreciate it, the one I wrote isn’t comprehensive)
Here it is! I made two versions of this that address the issue in different ways. This version I imagined being given directly to HCPs. Second version is below. Feel free to download and share, link in bio!
@adriel_rose I work in people's homes.
I mask because I don't like being sick, and I don't want to make anyone else sick, (especially people who are at high risk for worse outcomes).
20+ years ago I learned about masking for flu, TB, low immune system, etc. It's a small price to save lives.
@coldpalindrome PT is likely to help, and they might be able to help you figure out if you need imaging.
Massage if you can afford it.
Acupuncture helps a lot of people with lots of things, but not everyone. Usually takes a few treatments to feel results. Some insurance will cover, most HP does.
News programs should be giving regular COVID and airborne virus reports, the same way they give regular weather reports.
Studies show people will take precautions when virus levels are high, but sadly many wrongly perceive COVID levels to be lower than they actually are.
@_omgigi_ 10 mg knocks me out, and I get a bit of a hangover.
Definitely worth it if I'm in a ton of pain from muscle spasms.
When it's kinda bad, but not super bad I take 5mg (ideally 30-60 min before bed). Still helps mild spasms, pain and sleep but much less chance/severity of hangover.
@NeuroRebel Sometimes when my dad got super frustrated with me, he would say HE needed a time out.
I think if it's framed as a calm down time and the grownups can recognize they need them too sometimes, that's better than punishment.
@Tommy_Nicoletti@CaraLisette And yeah, cannabis is the only med that helps me w/nausea + appetite too.
(GI docs tried all the anti-nausea pills, none helped.)
Nettle tea sometimes helps, a little, when it's mild, especially after I eat, + it has good nutrition (not for people on blood thinners).
@Tommy_Nicoletti@CaraLisette On difficult days I focus on calories (ice cream, pie, pizza etc) try forcing myself to get at least 1000-1500 (some days I can't get more than 500) try to find the right balance between forcing and being gentle w/myself (forcing sucks!)
Easier days focus on adding nutrition.
