When software was expensive - thin, horizontal, best-of-breed software stacks extracted rents across every business.
Now that software is cheap - value moves to vertically integrated businesses that deliver opinionated end-to-end experiences.
Everybody is an open book if you’re paying attention. Especially when you know everything they say and do is a reflection of their relationship with themselves. Once you understand that, you can predict anyone’s behavior. Never let anyone surprise you.
The key to staying unintimidated is to convince yourself that the person you're facing is a mere mortal, no different from you. See the person, not the myth. Cutting the other person down to size will help you keep your mental balance.
You should pay close attention to the things that reliably pull you out of character. That is where your shadow lives. Anger, lust, envy, wounded pride, the need to be admired. A man who cannot study these movements inside himself will keep calling sabotage a mystery instead of a pattern.
The biggest opportunity to get super loaded right now is the entertainment industry.
Ai is about to bring about a creative renaissance.
All the money in Hollywood, Netflix, Amazon prime, actors and IPs is about to go solely to small teams of creators.
We will see 2-3 man billion $$ IPs.
Imagine Attack On Titan or the entire Hunger Games trilogy… but made by a team of 5 and they get all the money from it with almost no overhead outside marketing.
Imagine if George RR was able to produce and distribute Game of Thrones with his own small in house team.
9 and 10 figure pay days left and right without even having to exit.
People are not quite seeing the scale of this. The next Walt Disney of AI is being born right now.
It might be the caffeine speaking, but I love you all ❤️
Happy Valentine's day you sexy mf'ers.
I'm writing this at a coffeeshop. Rain outside. A first date happening next to me, I'm hoping they make it.
I'm feeling happy & grateful for all of this, human civilization, life on Earth, a spinning rock in space. There are 100-400 billion other planets in our galaxy alone. And there are ~2 trillion galaxies in just the observable universe.
And somehow we have a chance to crack open the mysteries of the universe, to solve physics, biology, intelligence, to understand our own mind, to travel out toward the stars.
And at the same time, we often bicker about the stupidest shit. The whole thing is hilarious and beautiful.
All of this is a miracle ❤️
PS: It's definitely the caffeine speaking 🤣
A lot of high performance is going against "what's natural" for the average person:
- Push when others would back off
- Run forward where others avoid
- Long game vs Quick rewards
Once you can go against the natural tendencies most have - the whole world is yours.
Fall in love with some activity, and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn't matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don't think about what you want to be, but what you want to do. Keep up some kind of a minimum with other things so that society doesn't stop you from doing anything at all.
Just stick to the fucking plan. Your plan was made when your mind was clear and nothing was distracting you. Stop improvising as long as you’re not done with the goals you’ve already set. You made that plan for a reason. You sat down, thought it through, mapped out exactly what you needed to do. That version of you knew what mattered. But then life starts happening and suddenly you’re chasing every new opportunity that appears. Every shiny object that crosses your path looks like the answer. It’s not. It’s a distraction. Not everything that shines is made of gold. When you keep switching directions, you guarantee failure. You spread yourself thin. You finish nothing. You build nothing. Stick to what you decided when you were thinking clearly. Execute the plan you made. Finish what you started before you go chasing something new. One thing at a time.
