Did TED Translators at #TED2026 discuss new roles of them?
My asks:
(1) leverage translators to allow different forms
(2) publish faster (w/ a hybrid of the process+auto+guardrails)
Only TED can make the change.
So many places are left behind.

Would the TED Translators at TED2026 be going to discuss the new roles of them? My requests are to
(1) leverage translators to allow different forms of interactions
(2) publish faster
These are my asks from 2023.
Here are my 15 talks pending.

My asks for the TED Conference!
Would the TED Translators at TED2026 be going to discuss the new roles of them?
I am also curious about how speakers are feeling about the slower turnouts of their talks.

And, another from the year 2024.
I would assume that all the work at the TED headquarters will soon demonstrate your wisdom and care for the communities across the globe, but it is true that so many ideas are stuck in the current process.

My wish for those at the venue.
I hope the proposal is addressed so that #TED community will leverage the power of people, translators there, and powerful machines.
Community has many talented, caring people to change everything by helping ideas land on many.

On the one on the International Translation Day in 2025. All the empowerments possible with technology should see more in TED Translators. I am aware of official dubbing, and other initiatives in progress, unknown to me.
But, so much more trust I need.

On the International Translation Day, would you reconsider unlocking the agency and power of translators?
TED translators can be trusted creators for mixed modalities as in my 2023 proposal.
Dubbing down.
Can you
Doubling down on us remixing under a new term?
How can we add the transparency of the Broad Listening (BL)?
Come join a workshop, on Nov.29, to dive into untangling the complicated end-to-end processes. Together, we will look into the practices of it and ways to see how much it is translating voices.

.@TEDchris TED & translators need disambiguation,modalities,and interfaces.
TED translators can engage in disambiguation to help viewers to feel the intended messages. Translating only for subtitles limits possibilities of translators & .@TEDTalks.

Here are some more unofficial subtitles of TED talks, pending for review & approval of the translation which I have worked on.
You must NOT redistribute those subtitles without written permission by TED Conference as written in the quoted post. Read the GitHub repo for the terms.
I've just submitted a session proposal for the Code for Japan Summit 2025, focusing on the transparency and accountability of digital democracy tools. It's an issue I care about deeply although my own project in this area has been in limbo and feels like anti-"demonstration" act.
We need a variation of Democratic Tool Benchmarks for broad listening practices or digital deliberation applications. Otherwise, quite deliberate deliberations and open polls are summarized into the same category in statistics that counts digital democratic tool experimentations.
A system would have a traceability by design to ensure the summarization or groupings of opinions will offer a means to track the path from the summary to the raw opinion.
Occasionally, it is challenging to find out the source of the information ...
Is it "listening" when my thoughts undergo lossy compression? How can the bandwidth be "broad" if the most important bits of information are lost along the way?
So much compressed are our views that we might be going to be drowned in a sea of irrelevance.

Contrary to the given easy-to-follow explanation and popular use cases in Japan, my interpretation of and hope for the #plurality-driven #broadlistening is that the tools offer their summarization power while preserving the nuances and context of the inputs.
