CHI told us she would have her hip surgery every year for 3 years. Then told us they could do it in cappagh. The years went by and no surgery appointment came. No explanation why we were waiting. Still children who didn’t need hip surgery had it done.

The Harvey Chronicles-Post 3
Between the age of 6.5-7.5ish Harvey started dropping a lot of weight.
At 7 years and 8 months old, he weighed less than 15 kilos.
That’s less than our almost 4 year old now weighs.
During this time he was in and out of hospital with his breathing issues and pneumonias. Despite being in regularly and always being weighed, they never flagged his weight loss.
Nobody in the hospital escalated this and looked to address is. @Stephen63224725 had to insist they come up with a plan to address it.
Harvey didn’t really ‘eat’ food. He relied on a prescription formula that he drank to meet his nutritional requirements. He had at the time a prescription for around 30 tins a month. This was needed to meet his requirements for growth.
Did you know, that @HSELive don’t actually care what the prescription says and instead have a cap on how many you can order a month? Despite Harvey’s needs, the limit was 20 tins a month.
This had to be challenged and they did then allow 45 a month so that we could give him a concentrated version for weight gain. Look how his weight climbed once he was no longer being deprived of his food.

These children have not only been failed during this neat 6 year window and that timeline is absolutely indefensible.
-In 2016 Harvey was born, with quite serious scoliosis already at that point and Temple Street (pre-CHI) linked him to an orthopaedic surgeon that only deals with feet so he was never even reviewed properly.
-In 2017 we got told his scoliosis was ‘life and death’ and that his ribs were crushing his lungs. That same year we saw the Prime Time exposé highlighting the years of failures in scoliosis care that led to @SimonHarrisTD 4 month sound bite.
-In 2018 at 2 years of age, Harvey got pneumonia for the first time as a result or reduced lung function.
This is the type of information that won’t even feature in this farce of an inquiry.
Happy to be corrected on anything here...
Have done all this myself so you can read it whatever way you want. At the end of it all, it is the best season ever. Without a doubt

So, Children’s Health Ireland, the organisation in charge of the sickest and most vulnerable children in Ireland has:
•delayed urological care so much that children are at increased risk of some cancers and infertility-and then not felt it necessary to even alert the families of these children.
•a surgeon on leave after implanting non medical grade metal springs in to children’s spines.
•potential misappropriation of €19million that was supposed to be spent to improve care of children with Spina Bifida and Scoliosis.
•allowed children wait on surgery so long they become inoperable.
•allowed children age out of their care without ever getting the surgery they need.
•children have died due to not receiving surgeries when needed.
•taken and hidden €30,000 from Aramark. The same company that charges extortionate prices in their hospital shop.
•surgeons allegedly performing hundreds of unnecessary hip surgeries on children.
•attempted to fire staff for alerting serious welfare concerns.
•a toxic work environment for staff.
•surgeon/s misusing the NTPF for their own profit.
•refused to publish a large number of reports that may outline other serious issues.
•removed children from surgical lists without informing the parents.
•threatened litigation when parents push back.
•threatened to, and got Tusla involved when parents pushed back.

Anything short of a *Public Tribunal of Inquiry* in to this absolutely negligent organisation would be an insult to all the children and families who have been physically and mentally harmed by this organisation.

Memories in the making! 🤩
More than 140 clubs answered the call as over 8,000 underage players will attend the Leinster Senior Hurling Final free of charge this Saturday 🙌
But for me, the greatest failure was the failure to my son, Harvey.
In politics, promises should mean something. Instead, they promise everything and deliver nothing. Families are left fighting battles they should never have to fight alone.
🗣️“You can write off the Leinster Championship as a competition for the next, at least five years definitely, ten years perhaps.”
— Ray Connellan in 2021 after Dublin beat Westmeath comprehensively in the Leinster Championship the year before.
Today, the 31-year-old was selected for Man of the Match as Westmeath ended Dublin’s unbeaten streak in finals🏆

Dublin City Council has set aside €10 million of taxpayers money for works on its Wood Quay headquarters, despite the fact its vacating within 3 years and demolishing it. €3 million goes on internal office renovations. The rest covers security and maintenance. For a building heading for the skip.
@DubCityCouncil is moving to Kevin Street at a cost north of €670 million, justified by a claim that retrofitting Wood Quay to 2030 climate standards would cost €400 million. So we cant afford to fix what we have, so we will spend ten million maintaining it, demolish it, then spend two-thirds of a billion elsewhere. Even worse, environmental studies put the carbon cost of this new foolishness up to 70% higher than a straightforward retrofit!
Wood Quay was built on top of one of the most significant Viking archaeological sites ever uncovered in Europe. Thousands marched in protest. The council pressed on anyway. Annihilating our priceless irreplaceable heritage only to feck off barely forty years later. Dublin and Dubliners deserve better!
