A one-armed woman has gone mega-viral after she quickly refuted a cop’s claim that she was driving with a phone in her “right hand.”

Kathleen Thomas, who was pulled over by a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy and was issued a citation in February for allegedly using a phone with a right hand she doesn't have, now tells CBS News' Cristian Benavides that she doesn't believe that the officer wanted to be "mean" but hopes the viral encounter can spark a broader conversation about limb difference and how interactions with people who look different can have unintended emotional impacts.

It reminded me of a thought that has stayed me since then...that sadness can become dangerous when fear enters it, and that more often than not, the moments I laugh through my pain are not moments of denial, but moments of survival.
