Today is an important moment for Pogoń Szczecin Women, for our city, and I truly believe for women’s football in Poland.
We are proud to welcome Martin Masaryk as Head Coach of Pogoń Szczecin Women, together with his trusted long-time assistant Erik Flámik.
Martin brings one of the strongest women’s football coaching résumés this country has ever seen: league titles, European experience, Champions League football, international experience across several countries, and a proven ability to build serious, competitive teams.
Women’s football at Pogoń Szczecin is not a side project. It is part of our club, our future, and our long-term vision. Every part of this organization must be built properly, with the right people, the right standards, the right culture, and the right ambition.
This appointment is another step in building something strong, professional, and lasting.
We are happy. We are excited. And we are serious.
Welcome to Pogoń, Martin and Erik. Now the work begins.

I wrote a rundown of Ewa Pajor‘s off-ball activity in the UWCL final. My aim was to capture the calibre of her runs, as well as the persistence she moves with. It is a long read, so I am grateful for everyone who takes a look and provides honest feedback.

Since arriving in Szczecin, I have seen the passion, pride, and love this city has for Pogoń Szczecin. This relationship is magical and beautiful. I have also seen the other side of football: toxic rumours, fake stories, anonymous accounts powered by haters, couple of dirty journalists with personal agendas, and people who hide behind fake names to spread negativity and confusion.
We should NOT allow anonymous cowards, fake accounts, or people with personal agendas to define the future of this club. If someone does not have the courage to attach their real name to their words, then their words are worthless and should not carry weight. Pogoń Szczecin is bigger than rumours. It is bigger than noise. It is bigger than people who want attention & negativity instead of progress.
Women’s football has been important to me from my first day at Pogoń Szczecin, and it will remain important to me until my last day in this club, whenever that day comes. This is not a side project. This is not a symbolic program. This is a serious and important part of our football organization.
Women’s football matters because Szczecin deserves a club that represents everyone. It matters because young girls in this city should be able to dream, compete, win, and see a clear path from the academy to the highest level. It matters because sport has the power to build confidence, discipline, leadership, courage, and pride. A strong women’s team is not only good for Pogoń. It is good for the city, for families, for young girls, and for society.
The safety, health, dignity, and well-being of our players are extremely important to us, especially our female players. I will not comment on internal matter publicly now, but we have made major decisions and changes that we believe are in the best interest of Pogoń Szczecin as an organization and our players.
We also have started the legal process of taking over all the shares of the women’s football company from the previous and other shareholders. We have put together a strong supervisory board. We will be announcing our new coach within the next 10 days. This individual has a massive and great name in women’s football, tremendous experience, and a serious pedigree. A statement coach for Poland football.
We have also identified several excellent players we want to add to the current team. Our ambition is clear. We are going to build a women’s team that the entire organization and the entire city of Szczecin can be proud of.
A team that competes for the Polish Cup. A team that competes for the Polish Championship.
A team that represents our colours with pride, discipline, courage, and fight.
I want to thank our fans who have supported the women’s team. Your support matters. These players deserve respect, encouragement, and belief. I hope that support continues and grows, because what we are building deserves the full strength of this city behind it. Also thanks for our players who played for us last year.
Our goal for women’s football is very clear: championship success in Poland and European success in the future.

Former Japan WNT manager Futoshi IKEDA will take over as manager of Mynavi Sendai next season. Ikeda has been serving as a club advisor for Mynavi Sendai this season, so he likely already has a good understanding of the team.
