Here’s an interesting fact: I am in Korea on a work visa, and it’s valid for one year. Every year, I have to prove to Korean immigration that I am still medically fit, that I haven’t committed any crimes during that year, and that I am still employed in order for them to renew my visa. They will only renew my visa if I can prove that I am of good use to their country.
Furthermore, if during that year I decide to move from my apartment to a new one for any reason, I have 14 days to go back to immigration and inform them that I have changed my address. If I am even a day late and go on day 16, I will have to pay a fine, which can cost anything from R2,000 to R13,000.
As a South African, I am also not allowed to participate in any protests happening in the country. If there is a crowd of Korean people protesting for whatever reason, I, as Phindile, cannot be found in that crowd because I could be deported. Before I got my Korean ID, I wasn’t even able to own a korean cellphone number or even order anything online.
I am therefore in this country legally, and I make sure that I abide by their laws because I know that if I don’t, I will be sent back home with no negotiations. Does this mean Korea is xenophobic? No. This is a country making sure that its citizens and the country itself are protected. A country making sure that guests know their place!
Why are South Africans being made to feel bad for wanting the same thing?
@BongsMahlangu_@MaoengKekeletso Must have worked a longer hours and days. The one on the screenshot is definitely for someone who worked 32 hours, and that's at least four days a week. Also, permanent staff get better 💰
Happy Mothers Day weekend to all the eldest daughters who were forced into Parenting , to those who had to raise their siblings, raise themselves, and sometimes even raise their own parents.
Reminder that an epidural needle is 4 inches long, a baby’s head is 14ins round, a c section cuts through 7 layers, and giving birth is on a threshold of life and death. Mamas, respectfully show TF out this Mother’s Day weekend . We truly deserve it 🤍
Happy Mother’s Day to myself for every sleepless night, every silent sacrifice, every flaw, and every moment I still chose love. I may not be a perfect mother, but I am a loving one, and that is enough. 🤍
Happy mother’s day to all mom in the world🥰
Lately, I've been feeling so overwhelmed and alone. Sometimes, the tears just come without a reason. I'm really tired of everything. Sending love to anyone else feeling this way.
Leaving a relationship without a child is a big win. I need women to be stingy with their wombs. Don't carry a child for a confused or a toxic man, never!
Being a mother means putting yourself last…
even when you desperately need to come first.
You ignore your own exhaustion.
Ignore your own pain.
Ignore your own needs.
Because your child comes before everything.
But let me ask you…
who takes care of the mother when she’s running on empty?
Mothers go through a lot in silence because they dont want to burden us or stress us they dont open up , so pray for your parents you never know what they are going through 🙏🏻
