The very essence of pastoral care is detesting the oppression of souls.
A man who rejected, confronted and opposed anything that crushes the human spirit.

@_jelrey Right? What a powerful institution. I was just thinking of organizing something like this for the community in the next coming two weeks. Thank you for this!
I get where this post is coming from, church spaces aren't perfect. There's an abuse of spiritual language that can ignite a certain euphoria that is intoxicating! But the comments๐คท๐พโโ๏ธto present a non-believer as a safer alternative life partner is misleading๐ตโ๐ซ
Nobody breadcrumbs and strings along quite like a man of God.
If youโve spent enough time inside the church system, you already know how this story goes. She will hold on far longer than she should because he gives just enough to keep her steady. A small public gesture here, a soft affectionate word there, maybe even a few private moments that feel like something real and just enough public validation for her to feel special, then he wraps it all up in vague promises and spiritual language about โGodโs timing,โ and she convinces herself to wait a little more.
So she stays, soaking up the cute nicknames like โselwoman,โ enjoying the illusion of being seen as the first lady even though she isnโt. That heady feeling will hold her in place. She will keep hanging on because she believes that eventually, if sheโs patient enough, sheโll become first lady.
Even if it takes her 20 years.
Or until he marries another.
You're a pentecostal female preacher and walk onto this flight.......๐ค
Definitely taking seat no:6 for the ecumenical safety and to avoid the "complementarianism vs Egalitarianism" debate with the rest of them!
