At 100 years old, World War II veteran Harold Jackson has had a lifetime of memories.
He added another one on July 4th when he threw out the first pitch before the Royals and Phillies game at Kauffman Stadium.
"I think my memory is pretty good for my age," Harold mentioned to @lschwentkernews. "I can't run very fast, but I can use a walker."

@DTLB58@Swanee54 That’s why the official’s handling was correct. But two things at play: his history of actions toward officials but more importantly - how lower level coaches could do something similar for a different reason and say they were just celebrating! Believe me, I’ve seen it.
Solution to replay in all sports; you get to rewatch the video AT GAME SPEED one time and then make the call. Replay was supposed to fix the obvious mistakes, not frame by frame “undetectable by the naked eye” stuff.
The simple fix is if runner clearly beats the throw/tag and does not overslide where his entire body leaves the bag, it should remain an SB. Not just because we didn’t get the break, but for all teams. The adjudication of the rule shouldn’t be a frame-by-frame dissection in NY.

We begin our 25th year as Call the Game. We have assigned around 500,000 contest reaching who knows how many kids. Some of them have joined the 3rd team. Give back to the game you love and join us. @UmpsCare@NFHS_Org@KSHSAA@ksoasports
@cathyb314@bobfescoe It’s not the “discussion” about a call that gets a player ejected - it’s the UNSPORTSMANLIKE manner in doing it that results in the “goodbye.” If the call is overturned and the umpire then throws his hat, kicks dirt, drops f bombs, and/or charges the player - THEN eject the ump!
It's the time we've all been waiting for! “A Kansas City Christmas” is this weekend. Each performance will be available via livestream.
